I am transitioning and getting ready to do a length check by flat ironing w/ my sedu. It doesnt seem to be able to get my roots. I have already air dried as well. Is there a way to get my roots straight to get an accurate read of my hair length?

I usually use a rattail comb to get to my roots. How big is your iron? I have 2 one-inch flatirons .. I could use a 1/2inch ..

If you know how, you should blow out your roots.

I'm also transitioning. I just get the flat iron as close to my scalp as I can. It works out pretty good for me.

I pull through the hair [properly washed and dc'ed hair] with a rattail comb while chasing it with the flatiron. Only the roots though.

Does that make sense ?
