Well, Im scared that my hair will break off when i get my relaxer. What can i do this wee and a little of the next to strengthen my hair and prevent breakage???
thanks

Well it depends of why you believer your hair is goint to break off. If it is because of dryness you need intensive moisturizing conditioners. I highly recommend kerakare humectance and olive oil (apply to wet hair and under dryer for twenty minutes.) (other ladies on the board like LUST but I find kerakare to be excellent.

If you problem is weak breaking hair because of overprocessed hair then you need protein. There are multiple threads regarding different strengthening conditioners. I personally use Strength 1000 by straight request. (Others like aphogee protein treatment for damaged hair). These products require going under a dryer without a shower cap and allowing the hair to dry to a VERY HARD AND CRISPY dry state and then you rinse. All breakage usually stops. The only thing is that you need lots of moisute after doing this (kerakare or LUST or any other hightly recommended moisturizing conditioner found on this board.

Some ladies do no like so intense a protein treatment. the prefer a reconstructing conditioner with both moisturizers and proteins.

I would personally recommend using one just moisutuizing con if that is your problem or if it is strength using a really good protein followed by a good moisturizing con. This has worked for me very well. Each hair is different. So you will have to find what works for you.

I recommend the above because I have been in a position when I needed a relaxer really bad and my hair was in less than a healthy state. The above regimen helped me save lots of hair and allowed my hair to quickly recover. Its doing great now.

Hope this helps. If you have more specific questions let us know and someone will be able to help you.

I would recommend doing a reconstructor days before your do your touch up, after you use the neutralizing shampoo during the rinse out of the relaxer, and wait about four days after your touch up and use the reconstructor again.
