If you rollerset

I take roller clips and lightly lift the curls up to my head making sure not to disturb them then clip them in place. In the morning I just take the clips out and shake. The curls fall back down nicely. I do this because I don't want to have to comb through my hair in order to pin curl it.....and because I'm lazy, lol.

I reroll it every night because if I don't I'll have the smushed curl action going on....

What she said:D . If I want curls I have to roll every night. It only takes me about 10 minutes to do.

I pin curl around my finger and pin it down the with small roller clips. Kind of like how you would try to roll your bangs with your fingers back in the day but twist it so it lays flat (a head full of Os). When you take it out in the morning it should return to its place - if this makes since.

Pin curls really work. I rollerset my hair this weekend, and brushed it into a wrap, but most of the curls disappeared. I sectioned my hair into small sections and pin curled it, and voila...curly hair. And I can go without combing my hair all week!

I must have been born blonde because after 2yrs of LHCF I still have no idea of what a pin curl is or how to do it.... Geez! Thanks beyondcute for posting instructions...

I always wanted to retain my curls but i never had any luck...I did the gently gathering the curls on the top of my head, but in the morning the curls look smushed and ratty. I used to roll with sponge rollers but usually they'll end up coming out very tightly curled curls.... I'll try a pincurl..

Most rollersetters pin curl so they can keep the curl when they go to bed.

My pincurls never come out right, so I wrap my hair loosely and wear a satin bonnett, my curls last about 3 days then I might use hot rollers every other day, it just depends on the weather. Now that it's getting colder, I'm sure my curls will last longer.

I was skeptical about the pin curls! But I did this for the first time last night and IT WORKED GREAT!!!!! I washed my hair and rollerset on Sunday night, then last night when I got home, I sectioned my hair and pin curled. I had no idea what to expect, but this morning, I took the curls down, applied some jojoba oil, combed through lightly, then used my fingers to style. I thought my hair looked better today than it did yesterday fresh from the rollerset!

I'm so glad that I learned about his technique. Thank you ladies of LHCF! I always rollerset whenever I wash/co-wash. But on the days that I don't wash, I still want curls. I was sooooo tired of having to set my hair and sleep in the rollers on those nights that I was not washing. Pin curling will allow me to keep the curls from my last rollerset, and not have to overdo with the heat from curling iron, Carusos, etc!

Thanks!!!!

My hair holds a curl, once it's rollerset. I just put 1 or 2 hair pins in my hair...pinning it towards the front & cover loosely w/scarf. The curls just loosen each day, but they don't look smashed or shapeless.

I pincurl it, and it looks GREAT in the morning! I make a smaller/tighter pin curl for a tighter roller set, and a larger pin curl if i want big waves/larger curls.

It depends. If I am in a stretch, I have to re roll or it will look a hot mess. If I have a fresh relaxer, I can get away with pincurling.

I pincurl my hair at night, the smaller the pincurl= curlier hair, the bigger and lesser pincurls= more of a wave and light curl.
