IF you DON'T KNOW, don't give out MIS-INFORMATION!!!

most ppl working in hair stores usually dont know crap about healthy haircare. hell most beauticans dont even know about healthy hair care.

sometimes when im in these stores i have to teach their arse a thing or two....but be careful bc they think ur trying to be a know it a all....

They wouldn't think we were trying to be know it alls if they knew anything at all.:spinning:

Girl - I don't ask those chicks in Sally's ish...

They ask if I need any help and I am like "only when I get to the counter".....I had a funky experience when I walked in one not to long ago and the older yt lady offhandedly try to route me to the "ethnic products" and politely told her that I would be wrong if I routed her to the anti-aging...(caught me on a BAD day)

Those folks are there to get a check...no more - no less...

I'm going to have to use that one because some people REALLY don't know how to stay in their lane.

I used to go to Sally's in San Marcos which is about 10 miles down the road.
There was a saleslady there that was so annoying. She'd follow me around and always asking if I need help and wanting to be "friendly." She's made being friendly feel like you're being stalked.

A Sally's opened up in my small town and I was like, "Good. I don't have to deal with that lady anymore."

Well I show up in the new Sally's and guess who the manager is? Barf! So she continues to be annoying. The last time I was there, she hollered out to the rest of the sales team, "Oh... she's here all the time. She just LOVES to browse."

Now I do like to look around. But you can count on one hand the number of times my PJ-self didn't find SOMETHING to buy.

Anyway... now when I want to go to Sally's I get in my car and drive the 10 miles to San Marcos. It's worth the trip to skip that chick.

That rude so-and-so!!!!! SO WHAT if you love to browse? I do it all the time. I often walk into the hair stores JUST to browse. I go in with NO intention of buying anything, and I don't care if the salespeople are annoyed b/c I didn't buy anything.

I generally don't ask the salespeople anything b/c they usually give terrible advice. Last year, I was in Filene's Basement & I asked a salesperson where the swimsuit section was. He told me it was on the next level. Tell me WHY I went upstairs, looked all around the floor for the swimsuit section & it wasn't there? I asked a manager where the swimsuit section was & she told me that it was on the level I'd just left. I was so pissed. The guy on the other floor could've found out where it was; instead, he told me some nonsense to get me out of his face.:wallbash::wallbash:

I had almost the EXACT same thing happen to me.

I went into a sallys once looking for a sulfate free shampoo and when I find my product and come up to the counter this white hispanic clerk says to me: "You know, you should really try this product its good for ethnic hair like yours and mine"... I looked at her 2a silky hair and was like "You use this product?" And shes like "Well no, but we are ETHNIC (and she said it just like that) so we should be using these products.." (DH was with me and when she said this he was like  "oh no here it comes...")I was like.... "So you want me to use something that you wont even put in your own hair?" I pick up the jar turn it over and point to the second ingredient... "Mineral oil is probably the worst thing someone could possibly put in their hair, I only use good products on my hair... but thanks for the recommendation anyway... let me know how this works on your hair!"

She just looked at me like WTF? I just went on about my business and paid and walked out of the store. I couldn't believe that mess.

Also, there was this other time I went in there and the woman handed me a lye relaxer after I asked her for something that would help me soften my hair and would lay the frizz down. She goes "Oh yeah, Have you ever tried using THIS? They use this to stop that frizzy hair". I was like... "who is THEY? And I wanted a CONDITIONER or a leave in not a chemical treatment!!!"

I was so floored!

needless to say I dont ask questions in Sallys anymore... I really pity the girls who do go in there looking for some help though and leave with relaxers and mineral oil. :/

RIDICULOUS...and kinda sad at the same time.

For the most part, my Sally's experiences have been okay but once not long after I learned about Caruso steam rollers that I went into the store asking for them and the woman was like "oh no, don't get that those are terrible for your hair". She tried to steer me to the regular curling irons but I left that day without buying anything. It was only about a month later that I went into another Sally's and finally bought them- one of the best products ever!

At the bolded:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::grin::grin::grin::ohwell::ohwell::ohwell::drunk::blush::spinning::lachen::lachen::wallbash::wallbash:

I hate sally's they are so

Just the other day I went to a BSS to get some hair to braid my hair. I was looking for curly (deep wave) braids. When I braid micro braids I usually use just two packs, three at most. The owner of the BSS, who happens to be Korean insisted I buy five packs of hair - yes 5!!! Now I like the big hair look but I'm not trying to channel Tina Turner. I politely told her I only needed two, she insisted I needed 5 and even brought her husband into the conversation to try to convince me to buy more. I was so mad, I felt like saying just because you sell black hair products it doesn't make you an expert - how dare they tell me what my head needs???

I have yet to go into a Sally's and someone's hair is on point. I always tell them that I am fine when they ask could they help and give me that glossy ad. When I go in I have a specific item in mind. I never browse Sally. Ulta and Sephora yes, but Sally's Heck NO.

The Asian BSS's are no better, the Asian ladies swear they know our hair up, down, back and forth. I tell them I am ok and go get what I want and roll out. I am usually in there to pick up my incense anyway.

These stories are hilarious, and so true. Worst thing about is that I was under the impression that one had to have a cosmetology license to be a sales clerk at Sally Beauty Supply.:look:
