as in if it had nerve cells, would you still use heat? My friend and I were talking about this. She is a heat addict, uses it every morning. We were talking about people getting bikini waxes and other painful things women do for beauty reasons. She said there was no way she would do anything that hurts that much. So I asked her if she would still use her flat iron every morning if it hurt. She thought about it for a long time, but said yes. :lachen:

For those who use heat, would you still use it if it caused pain, like waxing does? Just a lame question for anyone bored enough to answer

Absolutely not!!!:look: Heat is not that serious to me! Oh, but I forgot, it not only includes straightening it, but dc'ing, blow drying it, and everything. I would have to tell the hair to toughen up, I need to look good!:lachen:

I think this is a good question. :yep:
I don't use heat often, so I'm not a good one to answer.
I omagine if it hurt, I would'nt do it at all.

I would NEVER use heat then.

Even if it was on the same pain level as waxing... heck no!

I tried waxing once and that ish was so painful! :pullhair:

Nope because I'm assuming it would burn like a regular burn ... in that case I would never use direct heat ever.

*shudder* Oh, HELLLS nawh. That would be like burning my skin everyday. I don't use heat now, for health reasons - but that? No. Noooooo. *shudder* That's just nasty, even thinking that someone would endure that sort of pain for straight. hair. Hells nawh.

well, i used to say i'd never pluck my eyebrows cuz it looked painful. and the first time i did it, it WAS painful. now i let the Indian women do it with those string things that hurt like @&#* but the more i do it, the less it seems to hurt. so if it was like that... i'd probably still use heat to straighten.

but if it was like blistering my skin... hayle naw :lachen:

with waxing, the more you do it, the less it hurts.

but tell me why when i first read this i thought, "ooh, that might feel nice." like, the nice as in toasty when you wrap yourself a blanket that just came out of the dryer - nice and fuzzy. i just imagined my head in this big ole warm blanket. but then i realized that my iron can go up to 300 degrees - that ish ain't warm, it's HOT.

Nope, I would never use heat. I won't get my eyebrows plucked or anything waxed because I know it's going to hurt so I certainly would not use heat on my hair if it caused pain.

I tried waxing a few times and couldnt make it through. But I do pluck my eyebrows sometimes and that hurts, so maybe I could make it through painful hair straightening hehe.
