Please share how you reached this length and your reggie. I am slightly beyond bsl but I am stuck there! Please help! Also share if you bun on a regular basis as well...

My hair is wet and in a bun 90-95% of the time. I cowash at least 3x's/wk and DC once weekly. I keep my hair moist and use some type of oil daily, very little direct heat (like once every few months). My hair does best when I wash/cowash it and leave it alone. How long have you been at BSL?

I have been full bsl since march of this year. I must admit I use direct heat 2 to 3 times a month sometimes.

I wash & DC 2/week; rollerset or braidouts. I rarely wear protective styles. Moisturize as needed.
And I hardly use direct heat.

In the summer I wash more frequently but normally I wash 2x a week DC or pre-poo beforehand and style in either a rollerset or airdry and braidout or bun. I wash in braids to minimize tangling and never comb my hair when dry. I only use sulfate free poo and keep my ends moisturized with thick creams.

1.conditon/Dc 2x times a week w/Wen & cheapie conditioner mane & tail or dove.
2.moisturize w/qhetmet root burdock butter & s-curl & proline moisturizer & water,or hairveda green tea butter,& oil such as jojoba, castor oil or whatever i have.
3.No heat
4.99% in a bun

I think my reggie is simple....The Key for me to cleanse the scalp often, Keep my hair moisturized and my ends oiled. I always air dry. I make bantu knots for curls but my hair is usually in some sort of updo unless I am going out.

RZ~

I wash a few times a week. Clean hair/scalp is a must for me. I detangle gently (seamless comb/conditioner or something with slip) with each wash. Letting my hair knot up and then having to get all those knots out = damage. No combing regimens do not work for me. But I don't usually use combs or brushes on dry hair, and never for styling purposes. Other than that, I keep it VERY simple. I basically wash, condition, let my hair air dry until damp and then put my hair in a bun. Sometimes I will use a tiny bit of coconut oil on the ends. I keep my hair in a bun until the next wash. That's about it. I try to use henna monthly, but I don't DC or do other types of treatments.

Wash...condition or oil...air dry...protective style.

Thanks for starting this thread, OP. I've been feeling the same way...just stuck. But I guess that I HAVE slacked off on my cowashing and bunning. I'm getting back to it right away.

Are you relaxed or natural?

What got my to MBL was to dc/wash/dc every 5 days, airdry until about 80% dry, then apply leave in and bun.
Every day I would apply leave in, bun, and baggie at night.

I wash 2x a week.
I usually DC everywash
I try to prepoo
I've gotten back to rollersetting instead of direct heat
I co-wash like 3x out of the week some weeks.
I wear a bun more now because I get tired of doing my hair. Can you believe that lol
I maKe sure I keep my hair moisturized.
Thats about it....I think.
Oh I don't detangle dry hair. I always detangle under running water. and when I stretch relaxers and I have a lot of newgrowth I part my hair in sections of 4 and wash each section and detangle one at a time.

And I throw a protein treatment, and chelating/clarifying shampoo up in there like once or twice a month.

Priestess, your hair is beautiful and thick.... do you have a fotki? Also, do you stretch your relaxers?

I'm texlaxed with a simple regimen. I co-wash once per week, sometimes every 2 weeks. I wear my hair in damp buns or spiral sets. I moisturize once or twice per day, never comb when dry and never use direct heat. I also try to maintain a healthy diet and do regular exercise, which contributes to healthy hair growth. Basically, my hair does best when I just leave it alone.

My more-detailed regimen is in the "About Me" section of my fotki.

Great thread. I wish we could still rate threads so I could give this one five stars.

i'm nowhere near MBL or anything
but i find that i have the best time with my hair in the winter

i think it's because of my protective styling
and the fact that i up the moisture big time.

i think we'll keep that stuff an all year round thing.

I co-wash every other day
DC every 2 weeks
Oil rinses once a week
Oil my scalp when I co-wash
Detangle with my denman when I co-wash
Always keep my ends oiled with vakita oil
Usually wear my hair in a wet bun and let it air dry or pin it up
I use heat 3 or 4 times a year.

It may sound like a lot but I have no choice because I work out every other day and I also work with trucks so I have to get that smell and dust out of my hair from work.

only natural products, co-wash once / twice a week, wear hair in a single braid, oil scalp with coconut oil/vatika. That's it totally KISS

Muffinz!! I love your texture, girl!! Your hair is so purty and wavy :lick: .

I wash, condition & rollerset 1x a week. During the week I moisturize as needed with Elucence conditioner & Aveda Light Elements serum. At night I either wrap my hair or put it in a high ponytail with 2 rollers....tis all!

I see most of you do the kiss thing and a lot of PS, I always though long haired girls would wear it out all the time......:perplexed

For the first year and a half, my regimen was similar to Eisani's. ^^^

Then I switched to weekly rollersets. Sometimes 2x a week.

Started out stretching 12 weeks. Gradually increased it from 14 wks, 16 wks.

Have stretched up to 6 mths, twice. I am currently half-way thru my third 6-mth stretch.

My most successful regimen:
Weeks 1-12, rollerset once or twice weekly.
Weeks 12-24, airdry, flat-iron every two weeks.
