The first thing to do is put your stress away. The stress, alone, will drive you to some product. Just relax. Think about your hair, washing it, styling it, conditioning it with the wonderful prducts that you already own. Actually use the stuff that you buy. Experiment with your make-up. Some people get a high from the actual hunt and purchase; then the thrill is gone. If that's the case, then you're dealing with a whole other monster. Try it. Pick up a bottle of condish, embrace it, make plans to use it, then do it. Sure, you'll buy something else eventually, but as long as you're using what you have and having fun, the guilt will ease, you won't be jonesin' and life will be good.

LOL. I like this thread. I never did an Excel sheet but I did a tally for how many products I used in a month vs. how many I bought. It was 12-12 last month, which I didn't think was that bad, especially because I stopped going out as much to stay away from alcohol for my hair :lachen: so I figure I would probably spend like $60 each time I went out anyway. Oh my, I think I just rationalized and enabled myself.

That's what I thought about doing and decided against it.

Now, I'm putting things aside to give to a local Women's Shelter for Battered Women. Their website said they definitely need African American hair care products.

Giving it to them, I don't feel at a loss for getting rid of all that stuff. Hopefully, it can be someones treasure!

I did that too this weekend. I feel better about giving it to a shelter or something.
