Is it best to oil the scalp before working out? Not for conditioning but to prevent sweat from proofing up the new growth?

I cowash in pigtails. This method allows me to stretch and air dry my new growth.
I don't want to air dry in pigtails each time I cowash after p90x or the gym. The sweat causes my new growth to poof up and tangle.

Are there any ways to air dry hair in a safe way for frequent gym users? If so, do you find it necessary to need your new growth stretched? Are the alternatives?, i don't want to look a hot mess at work w/ my edges, new growth all untamed or unkept looking.

I'm getting back in the workout groove but have not quite made it back to certified gymrat status just yet
-Relaxed
-Wear hair pinned up in croc clip or a bun
-Wash at least 1x weekly but will cowash mid-week if needed but try my best not to cowash -- I try not to manipulate my hair too much
-My growth rate doesn't increase with exercise

I am in the gym at least 5 days a week and I either wear a half wig or a pony pony that looks like a huge puff. My hair is always in twists under the half wigs. Then, at the end of the week, I wash my hair in twists and retwist while wet.....apply leave in and olive or coconut oil...

I run 7 days a week between 6.5 miles and 13. I wear flat twist. Good thing I learned how to flat twist my own head thanks to the ladies on the hair forum and YouTube :0). Rarely hardly ever wear a twist-out because my head is soaking wet after running. Would love to wear a twist out here and there but think its just impossible.

Have you ladies noticed hair growth?
YES! Especially when supplementing your workout with protein shakes!!

To answer the question, I work out in my wash n go, natural puff or straight hair out into a bun.... working out IMO is more important than how your hair looks, at least for me.

I do wash my hair every other day, I do not sweat on my head.

Flat twist Hairstyles I leaned how to do myself. Would love to wear a twist out but being a runner who sweats I find it impossible.

I workout 4- 5 times a week. I wear flat twists and a scarf over my hair. I co-wash twice a week. Otherwise the scarf keeps everything neat and absorbs most of the sweat.

I work out 3-5 times a week - my hair is in braided extensions, so I have no qualms with washing after each workout - i try to limit my shampoo to the ends of the braids cos I dont want to OD on sulphate shampoo on my hair. I let it airdry on my way home.

I'm hoping the exercise and regular contact with water will give me a growth spurt by the time I take my braids out in early january. I will need to tighten up some braids this weekend again, cos they do loosen quickly with all the washing.
