Oh dear.
Steam turned my hair around - period.
told me that using a steamer is for white women and that I shouldn't use it because it does nothing for dry hair. i know my hair was kinda dry because I use a luminizer on friday and I didn't dc. But I'm not selling my steamer.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was her rationale (I’m transitioning and my hair love's Dcing with steam)?
IMO: It was Using the Luminizer and Not DC'ing afterwards.
I never telling you nothing else IDTH

OK....Let me say this loud and clear *clears throat* I THINK YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AFTER HEARING THOSE WORDS!!!...Does this person know anything about hair?????....I have being using a steamer for the past 4 weeks and I could swear my hair is a holding a moisture far better than before when I just CD'ed without the steamer
lol now you know to stay away from stylists for another 3 years
Ok. Well. That stylist doesn't know what she's talking about. All of my clients that get steam treatments love them and their hair is doing so well with them.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why she would say that helping your hair absorb and retain moisture would be bad for your hair. Has she ever done them on her hair? If she did she wouldn't be talkin' that yang.
Everybody should use steam. It is nothing but beneficial.
I have to ask.
I know I shouldn't, but I have to.
What does her hair look like?
Plenty of people have grown healthy long hair without steamers, but likely not w/o moisture. Did she suggest a moisture alternative or just oil sheen?
Your stylist is right, you shouldn't use a steamer. AT ALL. PERIOD!
Send it to my house! I'll PM you my address LOL
