I ladies. I am contemplating getting either a sew with a little hair left out in front, or a half wig. I'm not really sure what the best option is for me yet. Also, How do you ladies keep the hair thats left out straight and/or blended and avoid heat damage.

Either way, make sure the weave/wig you are using blends easily with your hair. That way you don't have to apply heat all the time to achieve flawless blending.

I say wig because if you miss your hair you can just take it off. I don't wear straight half wigs they are always at the very least wavy so I can just do a braid out in the front.

I think you should do a half wig and just twist/braid/bantu knot/rollerset your hair in the front to blend with the wig, that is if youre going for a non-straight one. A weave is harder to blend IMO because you won't wash your hair the same, the tracks will loosen with each wash, you'll get the itchies, if youre going wih straight or wavy hair 8/10 you'll have to use heat to blend, and if youre using curly hair, you might as well try a curly half wig

Starting out I would just go with a half wig. It's easy to maintain...but you can alway's work your way up to a sew in.

Another vote for the wig.

But I don't wear half wigs since I started transitioning, now I wear full wigs. They come off at the end of the day and I get to see my scalp

I've never had a weave, but wigs & half wigs are great fun. I will admit, with half-wigs I do the headband thing that doesn't fool anyone. There were a few reasons why. My natural hair is very resistant to straightening & laughs at flat ironing. Puffy front & straight back? Yeah, that's not cute.

I now rock full wigs.
