Hello, ladies! Right now I am so tired of my hair, I need a change. Usually when I get this feeling I either reach for the scissors or the bottle of color! However, I am taking part in the Super Grow Out Challenge and I'm trying to get back to my natural color. So...I'm considering getting a sew-in or purchasing a wig. I know a whole lot of nothing about both! Here are my questions:

*What are the pro's and con's of each?
*How do I go about finding a good wig or finding someone who can do a sew-in?
*Can you recall any good threads off the top of your head that talk about either wigs or weaves?
*What are some important pros and cons about both?
*Which would you recommend?
*Anything else I should know when making a decision?
*Do you have any good pics in your online album that I could check out?

wigs are nice. if you find the right type of hair to go with it, you've got it made! you can just slip it on/off whenever you want! AND you get to have your real hair to care for. i really enjoyed my wig wearing experience

weaves are okay too, not as nice as wigs. if your one who starts "missing their hair" then you might have a problem staying in a weave for a while. its good for growth too, but usually some of your natural hair is left out and you may or may not have to straighten it daily to blend.

i have pics of both weaves and wigs in my album.

Honi, thanks for that! I love the pics of your sew-in, it looks so natural. I am nervous about wearing a wig because I'm afraid people will be able to tell it's a wig. With a sew-in, I don't want any of my hair out (if that's even possible??) because I don't want to have to worry about having to use heat to blend it. I am just really looking for a way to keep my hair protected for awhile but with more style than a bun. I'm tired of buns and braids!

you dont HAVE to have hair out, in curlier styles you can get away with leaving nothing out. i've seen full sew ins with straight hair. i think you just have to choose your stylist wisely.

i felt the same way about the wig thing! you just have to get a good quality wig and you'll be fine! it was crazy...i kept getting comments about "my" hair being cute. i was just like thanks! lol

Thanks honiii! I'm going to look into a wig and weave some more. Where did you get your wig and do you have any tips on how to find a good weave stylist?

I recommend instant weaves, quick weaves, falls, 3/4 wigs, whatever you want to call it they're all the same thing. I have done sew-ins and wigs too but the instant weave has worked the best for me.

I have a sew-in with none of my hair out in my album. I just got the front braided. I like sew-ins better than wigs!
