The only thing that will help you with that is oil sheen. My hair isn't naturally shiny either. My 4 type hair does not reflect light.

Some people's hair doesn't shine but has more of a sheen (not always). Oil such as olive oil, coconut oil, etc. may help but perhaps your hair just doesn't shine? As long as your hair doesn't feel dry, brittle, etc. then it's okay.

Are you sure your fro isn't shiney.

That may seem like a silly question but when I do my dd's natural hair i'll put oils etc and in the house her hair looks dull no matter what but when we go outside into the natural light her hair is blinging.
It may just be the indoor lighting

I don't think you can get your fro shiney because curly hair reflects light differently than straight hair. As long as your hair has a heathly sheen it should look fine. Deep condition with oil makes my hair have a healthy sheen when I wear my afro puff.

While my hair isn't necessarily dull looking, it takes no prize when it comes to reflecting light. It can be as moisturized as I want it and oiled to boot, but it just doesn't give me that sheeennnnnnyyyyyyy look.

I have been playing around with the idea of putting in a clear rinse (I heard it gives your hair that glow...lol) and I just might when I get a little further along in my journey, but I am still undecided. I refuse to believe that I can't achieve the same shine/sheen I had when I was relaxed...so something has to give.

Sorry..I had no suggestions, just wanted to lend an empathic voice. = )

More suggestions ...

Apple cider vinegar
Virgin coconut oil (someone already mentioned that)

Do you have product buildup on your hair? Try clarifying.

Keep in mind different hair has different luster levels. Not all hair is shiny but if it's healthy it will have an internal sort of glow to it instead.

Mix cowboy magic in you DC. Your hair will appear very shiney after.. The shine last about a week. That's the only thing that has worked for me without the oily feeling.
