I want a new flat iron

I really want a new flat iron. I would like to spend no more than $50. Would love the edges to curve to prevent breakage (that's why I want to replace mine). Also want ceramic. I've been looking, but to tell the truth, I'm overwhelmed. Any suggestions out there?

You can start by looking to your right! There's about seven differnt brands of flat iron in the ads. They always place these ads in just the right place! Start with one that looks interesting, google it to learn more about it. Its such a personal choice. Once you find one with features that you like in your price range, then narrow it down. That should make your selection easier. I just ordered a chi nano with a temperature control, cause I don't like to use really hot irons in my hair, and the temp doesn't exceed 350 degrees.:yep: To me, this was an important feature to have. If you chose a name brand (there are lots to chose from) you will not be disappointed! There are also articles on line about how to choose a flat iron that is right for you. Happy hunting!:drunk:

I honestly cannot suggest anything under 50 bucks..........

I have tried many irons.... The Sedu, the Solia, the Maxiglide and now - I have the FHI Runway.
The Runway is worth every dime.

Again - none of these is cheaper that 50 dollars. You can buy the maxiglide at Bed Bath and Beyond - with a 20% of coupon.

HTH

If you want something less than $60, you can try Sally's GVP (the knock-off CHI). Last time I visited Sally's, it was $49.99!

But if you want a REALLY good flat iron, you should definitely save up for a Hana (I just got mine and so far I love it!), Sedu, CHI, Maxiglide, or FHI.

gurl we have the same dilemma i want a flat iron but am short on cash i had researched for so long and decided to get the maxiglide cuz of the steam i figure it would soften my hair when i go natural fully but then today i kept searching and found out it doesnt really have ceramic plates its ceramic coated dang that messed up everything and the FHI is the best technology wise but the moolah is too much for me right now so i need to find something affordable so im back to where i started arghh oh well i guess this will keep the heat off my hair right.

but good luck with your search

I think I'm holdin out for the Maxiglide or Conair Infinity with steam. I can find both for $75, and like Lucky's Mom said- the BB & B coupon helps. I'll just have to be patient and search for discounts.

FYI- just because an iron says its good for coarse hair, don't believe it. I was broke and needed and iron in a hurry for an event, so I got a Vidal Sassoon. Its white and purple and has these grooves on the edges that were supposed to lightly grip the hair. What it actually does is lightly yank it out. On the upshot, its gets very hot and has ceramic plates, so if you want to have straight hair that disappears every time you style your hair, I will soon have one to give away.

DH is buyin me one (I think he was reading over my shoulder, and I'm not workin right now, so I'm shocked). Even agreed to Maxiglide. I think I need to go hug him. G'night ladies, and thank you.
