I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

...but I also want to wear my hair down more often and kick the phonies to the curve.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can wash everyday but still wear my hair down daily without the use of heat?

Any comments or suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated.

TIA

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

Do you want to wear your hair down straight or curly? If you want to wear your hair straight without heat, then you can do a wet set. Or if you prefer to have it curly/wavy, then you can do a braid out. Both styles you can do in the evening and your hair should be dry in the morning. I hope I understood your question!

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

Thanks BF! It doesn't matter whether it's curly or straight.

What do you mean by a wet set?

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

After you wash your hair, you put it in rollers. I often use 'wetset' and 'rollerset' interchangeably when I talk about using rollers on wet hair.

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

Oh, I should have known that right! There is no way I could sleep in those hard rollers. I wouldn't get any rest! lol

But you know what, anything is worth a try or two!

Thanks!

What about the bantu knot set everyone is sporting? It looks really cute.

Oh, yeah. Last month Hairlove asked was there a way to straighten her hair without heat. Someone suggest putting your hair in 4 ponytails and having the length of each of them added to the next ponytail. I hope this doesn't sound confusing. Maybe you can find the thread.

How do you feel about braidouts letting the hair dry overnight in say 2 pigtails and undoing them the next day? Use conditioner in your hair as the leave in... just a thought.

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

I cw either every day or every other day in the summer, and I do either a braid out, twist out or a bantu set. My hair grows like a weed and is super moisturized. I love the way it looks...In the summer, I walk around with some big ole hair

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

When you guys say overnight, how many hours is that? Or how late in the evening do you wash?

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

When you wash between 6-7pm, your hair should be dry between 7-9am. If you wash any later in the evening, like around 9-10pm, then your hair will still be damp in the morning. It helps to have smaller braids or whatever so it can dry quickly. If they're thick, it's going to take longer. It also helps to wear a silk scarf so that your hair can keep the heat that's coming from your head. I hope this doesn't sound weird.

Thanks so much Blue Flower. That is exactly what I wanted to know. You have been very helpful.

Depends on how I feel, cause my hair misses the daily co washes, I may give all of these wonderful suggestions a try within the next couple of weeks!

Thanks a million everyone!

Thank YOU!! I did not understand the original posting meant to add length to the next ponytail! This make a lot more sense now!

bleu flower - you are just a wealth of knowledge today! That is almost exactly how it works for me and my hair. If I wait too late in the evening to do it, it will be dry by 7am!

DSD, maybe you can try experimenting with the wet and wavy look. You can try the John Frieda Dream Curls and scrunching.

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

DSD - I think a braidout down would look very nice on you. Maybe play around with a middle part and side part. Also play around with the braid sizes. Like, you could probably get away with doing 5 big ones for big waves and curls on the ends.

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

Thanks ladies!

Hairlove, when you say "braidout down" what do you mean. When I braidout I cornrow about 8 rows going back. I don't do it often because it takes too long. Is this easier?

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

Oops, Sorry DSD. I've gotten used to saying braidout down b/c usually when I do a braidout, I pin it "up."

You can cornrow so think that is a good option! Maybe try doing 4 big ones instead of 8? I need to try cornrowing myself sometime for nicer waves.

Re: I want 2 go back 2 co washes by summer\'s start....

Ok, I will try that. It takes way too long to do all those cornrows. I think I may try to part into 4 or five sections and braid my hair down.

Thanks!
