So I buckled yesterday and bought some giovanni direct leave in after reading all the great reviews. It was bout 7 bucks at the earthfare across town so I though what the heck. I am currently about 8 weeks post and I have about an inch of newgrowth that gets dry as all get out. I washed with my beloved Design Essentials shampoo and slapped on the pantene relaxed and natural hair mask. I let that sit for about an hour and rinsed. I did notice that my hair was a little harder and tangled but I figured the conditioner did it with the proteinerplexed (I should have known better). Then I proceeded to take a blob of the Direct leave in and smooth it thorugh. First of all it smells great, fresh and kinda herby which is a plus for me. It also has a smooth and thick kinda feel to it which suprised me to be honest. As I was putting it in I felt me hair get sort of stif which scared me but as soon as I started detangling with my shower comb, my hair felt soo smooth and sleek. I rolled my hair on my big purple rollers since the red ones take too much effort to put in with this much new growth and I sat under the dryer for about an hour. I did notice that my hair was drying faster and as I took out a roller in the back to check how dry I was, I noticed that my hair still felt smooth and soft. I could definately feel that my hair was coated but not sticky and tacky like some leave-ins. I just felt like it left a healthy barrier on my hair and it really helped seal in some moisture. Overall I will give this product 8 stars only because I haven't tried it on freshly relaxed hair even though I have the feeling it will work just as well. I have been looking for a good leave-in and soo far this on fits the bill. This is really one of the first "natural" products that I have tried and I was pleasantly surprised. I have been looking at some old post about aubrey organics. I think am going to have to try that honeysuckle conditioner next . Thanks for lettign me share ladies.
