I think I found a new staple... plus pics, lol.

Unbothered
Hello all!

So, I've been experimenting with my twistouts. I'm trying to use something that maintains the hold but doesn't give me hard hair. I like to have a variety of "go to" products. So far it's been the ORS loc and twist gel. Well the other day I'm in a BSS just looking at stuff when I came across the Jane Carter Wrap and roll lotion. I've used it on some clients hair for rod sets but never on my own hair. It was $6.99 so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm in love!

Ok. So I detangled and dc'd with Hairveda Acai berry phyto conditioner then shampooed with KBB herbal shampoo. I ran through it (section by section) with this conditioner from Urban Therapy called Twisted Sista de-frizz conditioner. After that I sprayed each section with Mane and Tail protein re constructor spray and Jane Carter leave in spritz (on the bottle it claims to have heat protecting properties). I blew my hair out and prior to flat twisting I used Quemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream on my ends (I might've used some on my hair when it was wet too before the protein spray). Then I used one pump on each twist, combed it through then flat twisted. I know it sounds like a lot but it really wasn't, lol. It probably took me a little over an hour to do everything. I wash my hair in braids so it makes my process pretty smooth.

I did 6 flat twists and I put a rod on the end of them. One on each side and two in the back.

OK, enough rambling here are the pics:

Thanks for looking!

Usually I just thanks and KIM but those pics are gorgeous!
I need to perfect my flat two-strand twists. I always end up ruining the curl pattern when taking them out... :/

I used to do that too. That was another reason why I said I need something with hold that wasn't hard. I don't mind it being a little messy as long as the overall twist is there.

I forgot to take pics of how they held up, I'll try and get some tomorrow night.

Beautiful results! I'm just now experimenting with twists and braids. I have my work cut out for me!

Very nice! How do your ends hold up? I had to give up on twist outs because my ends get so tangly and dry .

Stunning, what did you use to dye your hair?

Sent from my GT-I9000 using Long Hair Care Forum App

I mixed an ash blond and a golden blond and I used 40 volume. It was with the Goldwell line.

That used to happen to me to. I tend to put a lot of moisturizer on my ends as I twist them and when I open them up I usually rub some type of oil on my hands to take them down.
