Last night I did a one hour pre-poo w/ORS Mayo mixed w/ a little carrot oil and shea butter. I put it in the microwave to warm it up then put it on my head for an hour w/ a plastic cap.

Next, I went to the Dominican salon where she poo'ed (that sounds strange) using my Breakthru poo. She followed w/ a 15 min DC w/ ORS Replenishing con.

Before rollersetting, she used a leave-in I brought with me. It was Africa's Best Liquid Hair Mayo mixed with glycerin.

My hair looks and feels lovely! I had no breakage and maybe 2 strands of hair in the comb when the lady did my rollerset.

I never thought I'd even consider divorcing my CON poo. CON might get bumped down to mistress status. I think Breakthru is it. It does everything for me that CON does w/o the weight/residue. Oh and it has ceramides! I love it.

The only downfall is that it's around the same price as my CON but almost three times smaller. I guess it's worth it though. I wish I could find a bigger bottle of this stuff. I'm going to use this for a while and if it continues to work, I'm keeping it.

Anyone every use this. What was your experience?

I use the BreakThru conditioner as my pre-poo. I can't tell you how I like it bc I just started. It was something I had bought months ago (before I found LHCF) and so I'm now using it as a prepoo for now at least.

I want to try it, but I'm wondering how it works on type 4a/b hair. There is an old thread that talks about this shampoo. Its users have positive things to say.

I have 4 a/b hair. It's relaxed w a no-lye relaxer.

I was in Walmart today, before I went to the salon, and I forgot to check to see if they have it. My hair is not relaxed or natural. It's done the old fashion way, washed, deep conditioned, pressed and hot curled. :peace:

Wouldnt that be natural? :perplexed

Breathru shampoo is my staple moisturizing shampoo. I like it much more than CON since like Esq. stated there's no yucky build up and film but it's still really moisturizing and detangling. I was afraid that they were discontinuing the line since alot of the shampoos were/ are being sold at dollar stores but I think they were just the larger bottles. Regardless it's a great shampoo for people who want the moisture from CON without having to constantly clarify.

At the dollar store? I wish! Now, I'll be sure to stop at EVERY dollar store I see! I can't find a big bottle of this stuff ANYWHERE. Thanks!

Pressing is not a chemical process. I guess I'm confused now...
I'm with you. There's only 2 choices, natural or relaxed. How you choose to rock your natural hair on a daily basis may not be natural, but by not having a relaxer, you are a natural by default. HTH

Pressing- with a comb or a flat iron is not a permanent change to the inner cortex of your hair. A relaxer is, Some permanent colors have been purported to and a Tex-lax is. If you havent had any of these chemical processes done then you are natural- unless your pressing has changed the strand of your hair permanently. If it has thats natural damaged hair.

This is correct!! Natural just mean no chemical to alter the texture of the hair..............doesnt matter if its is pressed, flat iron or whateva.

Okay thanks for that. I thought there was something else I missed being a newb and all. :)

What I gathered from Barbara's statement was that she wasn't natural in that she didn't wash her hair and wear it in an unaltered state- i.e. afro, wash and go, etc. So, I guess everybody's right. :look:

But back on topic: I've heard good things about ceramide technology but I haven't given this brand a try. I may pick some up for my dd's to see how their hair likes it since I'm doing this AAA experiment for a while.

Somehow, I knew that this thread would be about Breakthru Shampoo before I even opened it.  Breakthru is my staple shampoo!!! I'm never w/o it. Nothing compares to it for softness & slip, IMO!

I was just about to post this line in another thread! I love this whole line, but sadly,it has been discontinued in my area. The conditioner really stops breakage, and i have introduced others to it because it is so good.

I AGREE!!!

This is a staple of mine as well....I stopped using CON becuz of it. It's very hard to find. very few stores still sell it, and if they do, they'll have the DC but not the poo or vice versa. So i buy it online now.

Thanks for clarifying this for me. My knowledge isn't perfect. :nono:

Okay, it's good to know that its sold online. I would like to take it into the salon so my stylist can try it. :peace: What's the website address?

ever since i heard their rep on Steve Harvey giving out misleading hair tips and 'advice' I vowed never to come near their products. but this sounds very tempting...

Glad to know there are others who like this shampoo.

Does anyone know of any online sites that sell big bottles? I can only find little bottles in the BSS.
