it BROKE OFF! Ladies, I'm hurt. The nape area on the left side of my hair has been beedeebee'd for like 3 years. I was finally able to brush it up to wear an updo/french roll. It still looked a little shabby so, I decided to press it. When I washed my hair 2 days after doing this I was all set to wear my hair up. I noticed the hair back there was feeling a little rough so I got my hand mirror and to my chagrin, I had patches!

Now, I'm back where I started. Any suggestions? I always keep that area moisturized (I've been on LHCF long enough to know that). I'm almost in tears! I can't even pull the hairs together to make a small braid like I had been doing before this happened.

Sorry about this:( I don't have anything to suggest to you to use back there just some words of caution. Next time you decide to press any part of you hair try not to use grease or oils, only serum. I find that grease holds heat more which makes the heat easier to penetrate the hair strand. Also I think it may have been too much heat for your nape, which probably was very fragile to begin with. Once again, I'm sorry.

I had this same problem the very first time I put MTG in my hair. It really just taught me that when I put it on dry hair, I cant use heat for about a day. But if I put it on when my hair is wet and then dry it, it works fine.
I used some mango butter, since it really just kinda fried a few pieces of my hair using the mango butter helped to make it soft again. Eventually it has gained some healthiness back to it.

But I have learned to never put a product in my hair that I know nothing about and apply heat at the same time. :ohwell:

Thanks, Ladies! I keep castor oil so I'll be "doctoring" that area until it grows back again.

Just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear this and to tell you that you are not alone. I swear every time my kitchen has grown in to any kind of length and I try to be cute, it breaks and I mean every time. Good luck with babying it back to health.
