I wouldn't say it's the best braid job in the world, but it's not horrible...very wearable. To me I think it's worth $55 because if you take care of them and tie them down each night, you'll get 2 weeks easily, and an extra one if you don't mind not looking "fresh". The time that you save doing your hair and the benefit your hair will get by you not doing it all the time is well worth $55.
