I've been trying to quickly grow my hair and last night I went overboard.

I clarified with shampoo, bit of vinegar. Condish w/ mix of suave rosemary mint, mixed with bit of evoo, grapeseed oils and 1 cap of MSM in the mix. Hair was soft but when I combed, was breaking off. About 50 strands.

Hair didn't break off today, but a lil shedding. Are we suppose to place those capsules directly on hair? Maybe the vinegar had an effect??

Vinegar or apple cider vinegar? Vinegar is extremely acidic, not good for your hair.

MSM shouldn't be used in hair, it's taken orally. Sulfur has a drying effect on hair and should only (sparingly and very diluded in oil) be applied to the scalp.

I placed 2 tablespoons of white vinegar in the shampoo. No breakage in shower. It was when I completed everything and began to comb.

Before combing, I saturated with cantu shea butter and jamaican castle oil.

Any suggestions on what to use this weekend to prevent any further damage?

Since there was no breakage during the washing process, I would say the blame lies with what you used as a leave-in before you combed. In this case, Cantu and JBCO.

Have you used either of them before? Castor oil is really thick and a little hard to get on the hair. Some people slightly dilute it with another oil or two. Cantu has also been known to cause breakage with a few members, so I'd definitely be cautious of that.

Next time you wash, leave out the Cantu and dilute the JBCO a little bit.

I agree with southerncitygirl about the clarifying and vinegar being too much. It probably stripped your hair and left it a bit dry. Then you added MSM to the conditioner mix, which might've led to additional dryness.

Plus, your conditioner mix doesn't sound like it has enough moisture to overcome the effects of a clarifying shampoo, vinegar, and MSM on the hair.
