I am thinking of selling my Kenra. The shampoo is actually good. The DC is good, but has no slip. It does for a lot of people but not for me. I remember liking Motions products in the past and I am thinking of possibly purchasing the CPR shampoo, protein re constructor, and moisturizing conditioner. I have been trying to find the ingredients to the CPR shampoo but I cant find it! I remember liking the leave in a lot and one of the conditioners. I don't remember which one tho, because it was like 3 years ago. I may go back because it is a lot cheaper. If anyone could do a honest product review for me and/or inform me of the CPR shampoo ingredients I would really appreciate it. I really hope it doesn't contain any sulfates or drying ingredients.

Um, ok :look:

So...why is that you can't just get another moisturizing dc with slip? Why are you looking to get a protein conditioner (which Motions CPR happens to be)? And the Motions CPR shampoo is packed with protein and sulfates and isn't going to give you slip, and shouldn't even be used on a weekly basis as it was formulated for severe breakage situations.

Also, if all you're looking for is a less expensive moisturizing product, that can be done, but Motions isn't it. My guess is that you may want to look into products that have more silicones in them, since slip is important to you. And a shampoo that has sodium laureth sulfate, since Kenra was (apparently) to mild for your preference. My suggestion is to hit up the BSS and read some labels.

Motions is a cheaper line and it has an ingredient list to show it. Now all expensive things are not better, I am not saying that at all but motions tends to use lots of sulfates, lots of mineral oil and too much silicone. Silicone provides slip and can help bind moisture to the hair but motions formulas usually don't have enough of additional humectants to really make a true moisture difference IMO. The CPR line is designed for severely damaged hair that is breaking all over the place. It generally isn't designed for frequent use, just in time of great need. Are these the problems you are having? I personally like the CPR deep conditioner but it is a protein conditioner, I don't need to use it after every wash.

Just remember slip doesn't equal moisture. If that is ONLY issue you are really having with your existing products when why not incorpate a rinse product after deep conditioning. That is what they are designed for, to detangle and provide the slip needed for styling. I personally occasionaly follow up my deep conditioning treatments with a conditioner that provides me more slip for a couple of minutes after rinsing.

:ohwell: I was looking at the whole CPR line because it is cheaper. I didnt say I was on my way to the store to buy it and I was posting online via my cell on my way behind the wheel, I wanted to get opinions of people who actually have used it before. Some people actually use products with "harsh" ingredients like mineral oil with no problem and my hair does ok with it, so I don't necessarily think the ingredients listed promise results before you buy. I was thinking of using this because a lot of ladies on this board actually like it. And its not that easy to find a moisturizing DC with slip, which is why I asked for peoples review of this product since this is the one I am looking into.

Ok, I get what you're saying, but you are in need of a replacement of a moisturizing product. You are asking for reviews on a protein product when you need to replace a moisture product. Apples and oranges, ok?

I hope you have subscribed to this thread to come back to at a later date.:look:

Good luck

Well thanks, Artemis. And I will check back for the reviews of the people who used it. I wasn't just looking for a review on just the protein conditioner, but the moisturizing conditioner and shampoo (all from the CPR line). So its more than just apples and oranges.

From the looks of your siggy, you are going to have to be at the store soon since you are already trying to sell your Kenra.

I have read your posts before, you already use protein on a regular basis. You asked for honest product reviews but product reviews within itself are subjective since everyone has different hair types and needs. You said you needed a moisturizing deep conditioner with slip but motions CPR isn't designed for that and that is clearly stated on the website. I am just trying to get you to see that you are asking about products that are not DESIGNED to take care of the needs that you said you had. I know you are trying to save money, I feel ya pain, I am a broke college student but you are going to waste more money if you keep looking at products that are not intended for your specified needs in the first place.

There is no moisturizing conditioner and shampoo in the CPR line. Check the motions website.

Well I thought it was. I thought it had 2 conditioning products, one for protein, and one for moisture. I went to the site before I posted. The site shows a protein re constructor and a treatment conditioner. I thought the treatment was for moisture. But I just revisited the site and I see what you mean. And I just put that up today, doesn't mean I sold it already and had it shipped out or cant personally decide I do not want to sell it anymore. But anyway, thanks once again for your input and clarifying.

If anyone else would like to put their personal input on the line, I'm all ears.

I understand this point you are making in regards to the bolded part, but those people who are using a product w/this ingredient are also using it to serve a specific need. As we all have learned here you just cannot use any kind of product you want when your hair requires something different. I mean specifically when your hair is craving moisture and you give it protein. Mineral oil or not is irrevelant at this point.

Clearly there is a misunderstanding. I was under the impression from your initial post that you are looking to replace your Kenra products with something else because you were dissatified with them. The reviews you are asking for are for products that do not moisturize in the least. Therefore, I would not feel comfortable reviewing a product for you in opposition of that need.

If you are not looking to replace the Kenra (which I say, as I have previously read that you've been experiencing protein overload) and try a different type of moisturizing product then this is where the thread has disconnected. However, if you are, then I can do that for you.

Well maybe it is a protein overload. Im not a hair expert so I am not sure. But I have only used light protein. My hair was jacked up from ACV and I thought protein was the answer, but I learned it was not. Before I even used the protein I had not used it in 2 weeks and the protein I used 2 weeks ago was light. We all learn based on trial and error when it comes to our hair and I learned this based on the problem I had. However, I was still interested in the protein product by Motions (as well as other products) just to see how people liked it in case I wanted to purchase it. Had a little PJ kick, whats so wrong with that?

I don't have a problem at all with a little PJ-ism once in a while, do not mistake me.

This is the premise behind all of my posts:

Hopefully, you will find some ladies here who have used the product to help.

Again, I say, good luck :)

Nothing wrong at all. I am a proud member of the PJ club. The thing is you said you need help. From what you orginally said in your first post, you were leaving kenra b/c of cost. Since kenra is moisturizing, one would think you would need a suitable replacement. I was just trying to save you heartache because I have been in protein overload hell. I know how hard it is to fix and I wouldn't wish that on anybody.CPR is a good product if that is the need you have but from your info, that is not the case.

Any way Peace out........Hope you find what you are looking for

Bumping for more responses..

I used to be a Motions fan so I think I can help you.

From the CPR line, I've used the protein reconstructor and the Treatment conditioner. Both are very good imo. My only issue with the treatment is that the texture is very gritty and I had to rinse several times to get the "herbs" or whatever they were out of my hair. The protein reconstructor is fairly light imo and it strengthens in addition to moisturizing. Neither product provides great slip imo.

As Gym stated, the CPR line doesn't have a moisturizing conditioner. However, Motions does carry a deep moisturizing conditioner which is
Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner. IMO, it is okay and provides short-term moisture. There are alot of folks on here that love this conditioner though so if you do choose to check it out, you may like it. It does provide great slip but it also has mineral oil in it and I know that is an issue for you.

I've never tried the CPR shampoo so unfortunately I can't help you there.

One moisturizing conditioner(has a little protein in it but it's more moisturizing than anything) that I love that is EXCELLENT is ORS Olive Oil Replenishing conditioner. It has excellent ingredients, it smells wonderful, detangles beautifully and keeps my hair moisturized for dayyss!!!!!!. They sell it in the bottle which is more economical than the paks imo. If you want to just try it out before buying the bottle, they sell it in little yellow packs. HTH!

Good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for :).

Thank you very much! I have always wanted to try ORS but I was scared I wouldn't like it. Maybe I'll pick up one of the small packs.

When I was relaxed I used the Motions Moisture Plus conditioner and I think they have a shampoo for moisture as well. They worked well for my hair, wish I could say the same for their whack always leave me under processed relaxer, but that's for a different thread :lachen:

I can't remember the ingredients but it worked well on imparting moisture after relaxing. The CPR line I used when I had noticeable breakage. HTH, go to the BSS and read all of the ingredients, or check out some of the dominican product reqs for moisture. JennMD has a site for it.

Thank you Tenny! Im not staying from my Narobi relaxer:grin: thanks for the heads up.

Let me trying to answer this. I got lost in the thread. Sorry OP

Anyhoo I tried the CPR and it was good for me. I just didn't like the particles left in my hair. The moisture shampoo and conditioner was very good to me. The conditioner looks and act alot like Keracare humecto (on my head anyway.
