I Luv Chemicals???

Ok, here's the deal. For some strange reason I think my hair, skin, and body loves chemicals. I cannot seem to find a natural/organic product that works for me and I'm thinking about not wasting my money anymore because it costs more to send things back then it does purchasing them:confused: Last night, I tried another organic con (that many rave about) and my hair looked at me like I was crazy then started coming out left and right and I even followed up with a deep con. The same goes for natural skin products, they don't break me out but they don't really help either. I wish this wasn't true but I see no hope in sight and my hair can't take any more natural/organic experiments:( I had hair everywhere in the sink, on the wall, on my clothes, towel, floor, comb, rug, I mean everywhere!!!

My hair is the same way. I ordered the AO conditioners that everybody was raving about and my hair was like, '"girl, please." I sent them back to the company and I think Im just gonna buy some humecto and call it a day.:perplexed At least I know that my hair will love that and plus it gives me incredible slip. On the other hand, my hair does like Giovanni Direct leave- in which is surprising because its natural/organic.

I was thinking about trying the Giovanni Direct, I just wish it was at Target or something so I could take it back if it doesn't work:perplexed

I'm the same way. You probably won't see me mixing or concoting stuff in the kitchen. I think that sometimes people get caught up in what you're "supposed " to use when it is not the right thing for you. I've actually had allergic reactions and irritations from natural products.

this again just proves that you have to use what u like and what works for you! I think it's highly impossible for one product to be for everyone...
just stick with what u like most definitely especially if it's working for you.. regardless if it's natural or has some cosmetic chemicals in it. :) ;) :p

I asked the same question a few months ago when I made the decision to buy only organic stuff. My hair was sooooooo dried out by those shampoos, the conditionners had no slip, my hair was a tangled mess.

A friend of mine told me it was because when you switch to natural products, your hair and skin go through a "detox" phase. It's as if chemicals had been accumulating and then get off slowly thanks to the "organic" stuff. Thus, hair and skin look terrible until they're completely purified and that's when the natural stuff can really show it's capacities.

In my case, I tried this for more than 6 months. I think 6 months is waaaaay enough for the detox to occur. But my hair would stay the same: terrible :perplexed

So right now I'm just trying to choose products with as less chemicals as possible, but I'm not an "organic products integrist" anymore.

Yup. A lot of people get caught up in things just to find out it doesn't work for them. And what's funny is that a lot of the "natural" ingredients claimed by companies to be natural really are considered chemicals and people fall for it.

I only have 2 natural products. The rest went in the trash. One of them is as good as my chemical-laden version. The other one works "ok" and I keep it because it's natural.

I just spent $11.31 to ship stuff back!!! That's not even mentioning what I paid to have it shipped to me:( I'm really disheartened.

My hair didn't respond well to the all natural/organic products, either. :nono: I tried several different brands in hopes of finding one that worked. Just money down the drain, for me.

Yep, this is about how much I paid to ship my 2 bottles of AO conditioners back. Heck, I only paid $7.50 for them each and look how much I spent trying to send it back. I feel your pain, chica.:perplexed Im not trying anymore things. Im sticking with my Keracare hydrating poo and Humecto.

Hey, you gotta use what works for you. I love natural foods, but I think my hair (which is chemically relaxed) prefers some chemicals. I do love the Giovanni Direct, though!

BTW, if there's a Vitamin Shoppe near you, they sell Giovanni Direct there. Then you can return it if you don't like it.

After viewing another thread, I think I'll try homemade recipes with oils, eggs, food stuff basically, instead of spending my money on products + shipping and handling;)
