Hey Ladies I Just got some CornRows with Kinky twist and I plan on keeping them for a month and a half (hopefully). I would love to wash an deep condition but I am scared to wet it. I will be five weeks post on the 15th and my new growth is somewhat serious already. I Just wanna know when and how should I wash and deep condition. I'm not trying to do a search right now and I'm too computer illiterate to post a pic of my hair:sad:I do have pics in my album though:look:
I know its somebody out there who can help:yep:
Thanks!!

Hey, I like your twists! I had to visit your album cuz I've never heard of cornrows being done with kinky twists before...maybe I just need to get out more :look::lachen:

When I had kinky twists, I washed them maybe once every 3 weeks. They really didn't need to be washed that often. I did deep condition with them with every wash :yep:

How I shampooed:
-Thoroughly wet your whole head. It took me a while to do this.
-Put 2-3 cap fulls of Motions Lavishing Shampoo (use any shampoo that detangles and moisturizes your hair) in a bottle with warm water. Sometimes I'd put a pinch of baking soda in there if my scalp felt dirty.
-Pour this mixture over your hair.
-Motions lathers very well, so my hair would lather a lot. This helped cuz I would squeeze the hair. Do not lather and move around the hair as you would your own hair cuz that would only mess it up. Just gently squeeze the length of the hair. This might be easier for you since you only have to worry about the bottom half of your hair.
-Shampoo twice.
-Rinse very well.

-If your conditioner is already thin in consistency, then you don't have to dilute it. Just pour a good amount in your hair in sections to make sure it gets everywhere.
-If your conditioner is thick, pour some conditioner in another bottle. Motions Conditioner is very thick so I would dilute it so it would be thin enough to go through the synthetic hair to reach my real hair underneath. Mix a little bit of your favorite conditioner with some warm water (Remember, you can skip this step if you conditioner is thin enough).

Then airdry and moisturize. I didn't have to wash often cuz the hair kept my hair moisturized. Hope this helps!

Make sure that u put a stocking cap on so that they wont get fuzzy and then do the shampoo over the cap.....Check out den1 fotki she has a album of her washing her hair.
