and always remember when you comb to start at the ends and work your way to the roots, even if finger combing.
i find that my hair tangles when-
1) i wear it in a short shrunken fro. the shed hair gets caught at the ends and knots.
2) i plait it at night. for some reason, this tears up my ends.
i am wearing a variety of twist styles to keep it growing, retained and detangled. once i detanlge for the week im straight. when i was first natural six years ago, before i knew a thing about what i was doing, i used to blow dry my hair every week using a comb attachement with john frieda frizz ease and grease. yes, i kept my hair detangled actually, but that much heat is not good for the hair.
