I felt sooooo stupid earlier today..... Almost Went to ER Trying to be Cute

I had a HORRIBLE headache for most of the day that was the worst I ever had in my life!! It started as soon as I walked into work. I was afraid I might have an anuerism (sp) or something. I thought to myself, could it be the MSM? caffeine withdrawal? Aunt Flow on her way?? Anyway, after an hour or two I took an Excedrin and it helped a lot.

So a few hours later the headache came right back just as bad and something said, uhhhhh, take off that new hard plastic headband that's pinching my sides. Wouldn't you know the second I took that darn headband off the headache went away instantly!!! DOH!!!

Did anyone else ever have this happen to them or anything stupider??? It was one of those big wide band ones that came in the three pack and I knew it was hard to get it on my head but who would think it would give me the worst headache of my life???

Uggh!!

Plastic headbands from like the drug store/target always give me a headache. And I don't even think my head is all that big.

I just bought some headbands from forever 21 that are comfortable. They are thin and black. one was solid satin, the other had a lace overlay. very simple and cute.

i'm sorry but your title had me .

to answer your question, yes i have.

my natural hair was so thick and massive that i couldn't wear it pulled back without a terrible headache. one day i decided to wear a puff cuz my hurr was looking right so i took my trusty pantyhose and pulled it back. i probably could have passed for blasian but i was lookin' great, feelin' great so i left the house for school. 3 minutes later i had to pull off on the side of the highway to release my hair and let it be great because i thought i was going to pass out. smh.

Yup, mine were from Walmart or Target, I can't remember which. But I had no clue a headband could make your head hurt THAT bad. I usually wear the thin cloth ones but wanted something to look more decorative. I'm gonna check out Forever 21. Thanks!

Girl, I'm sitting here cracking up at you looking Blasian riding down the highway LOL. That had to be extra tight!!! I think you topped my not so smart moment just for cuteness. My stomach hurts from laughing.

Yup, I had to learn that the hard way for sure. Must be some major nerve around the temples for it to stop hurting instantly when I took it off.

Yeah, those headbands can get really uncomfortable on that sensitive part behind your ears.

Hah!! Yeah, I have been there. I had the worst headache last week - from my knee hi wig cap.

i've experienced this, really horrible headaches and i start thinking: time of the month, msm, stress, sinus, allergies? and take it off and realize its the headband. i also get bad headaches if i wear it near the back of my ears. i thought i was the only one, b/c i've never heard anyone else complain about it. also the stretchy kind slip off my head. so i don't know if my heads too big or too small. lmao.

You just have me really laughing. I can imagine you going to the ER and waiting for hours and then they run all of these test and then take your headband off and Voila - It's a Miracle.

It's late and I'm silly. When you got to part about the headband I knew exactly what you were talking about. You did well. I've never made it past 15 minutes.

Hairsnob I noticed in Walmart that they have "no pressure" headbands, may be worth a try.

Your story was funny, well thankfully it wasn't a serious headache indeed :-) Yes I have a story too: a few years ago I was having a bad hairday and decided to wear an 'old man's cap' that was too small for my head, but I shoved it on anyway. By the time I got to work my face felt so hot and my head was throbbing, immediately my coworker/friend asked if I was okay, actually she said something like "whoa! are you okay, your face is red?". I went to the washroom mirror and OMG! My face was an aggressive bright red from the cap cutting off blood to my head and locking it all up in my face. I looked like I was about to combust! Took the cap off and immediately the heat from my face went away, my complexion came back to normal and I felt better.

This is hilarious!! I can't imagine my face turning red LOL. I'm surprised you didn't pass out!!! I did the tight hat thing too but I never lasted that long since that pain started immediately so I knew what it was. Geesh!! The things we do for cuteness :-)

Girl, can you imagine that?? I would have given those ER people a story to tell for days LOL.

I don't think the size of your head really matters because they try to make them fit to all kinds and go overboard thinking they'll stretch to fit but oh nooooooooo they won't LOL.

I cant wear bandeaus because of that, theey always pich that area right behin my ears.

Ive also had rlly bad headaches from headbands especially when I do a puff LOL

me too, I def get headaches from headbands, or tying my hair scarf on too tight when I go to bed, lol I'll wake up in the middle of the night and loosen it.

Omg! I know exactly what you mean. I love headbands and I bought this cute hard plastic wide one and wore it to work. I was also wondering why my head was hurting and only realized it was the headband when I adjusted it. But...I wore it all day till I got home. Lol. * looks around*

LOL this is funny. I nearly did the same thing, except I had one of those really thin one. I have fine hair so I thought this would be the right size to use. Evidently my hair was more "coarse" that it worked with because the thing snapped on me. I had no idea. I had this intense pain and thought it was a headache. Glad I checked the mirror to find it had snapped and simply poking me in the head.

This thread! :lachen:

I can't wear the plastic ones for more than an hour. It feels like my head is in a vice!

Don't feel bad.... I can't wear them, either. And it took me a while to realize that they were causing my headaches.

I love head bands but as small as my head is (I have a big face and a small head go figure) hard head bands hurt after a while or almost instantly. So I try to find decorative combs.
Now on the other hand my child has come to me crying because her head hurt so bad, in all the crap she had in her hair initially I didn't notice that darn headband until later which was the culprit.

Ahh, I get that with most things. I am very sensitive to too much pressure on my head so I make a small snip in the elastic at the back to allow a little more give.

All those headbands hurt my head and scarves make my head uncomfortable too....anything on my heads has to be very loose fitting or its a no go

I can't wear them either OP. Try the goody elastic ones.

This thread has me laughing so hard! Tears are falling down my face! :lachen: I've been there OP. Just the other day I had to run home to take the pantyhose I had holding my puff off. :nono: My head was POUNDING. But I looked cute. I couldn't take it anymore!
