I've put together a still picture movie detailing my cut. I had blondish highlights a while back to which my hair held up surprisingly well, but in the end I got breakage and thinning. Every time I put my hair in a ponytail I could feel the difference between the thick part (thanks to LHCF) and the old hair. That bothered me. This was compounded by the fact that it was a new year, Rihanna and her fab cut was taunting me, and I was surprisingly comfortable with the idea of cutting my hair. Maybe it was the apple cider champagne
So, I cut my hair in stages, and then got full scissor fever. Running home to snip more. I have gone from almost mid back to collar bone.
I love it! My ends are so thick. I feel sexy, chic, and swooshy haired. I will be getting a professional cut after my relaxer touch up to add layers and clean up the length. I will use this grow out period to test the Indian oils, use all the info I've learned here, stick to my vitamin regimen, and rock every funky style I've wanted to. Hopefully by this time next year I'll be closer to my Macherieamour-esque goal.
Thanks to Dozenroses99 for posting her flat twist results. I tried it and got fantastic results. The length plus the twists remind me of my old style, natural hair in kinky wild twists. The pics show frizzy hair because it was the end of the day. Earlier in the day they were smooth, moisturized, and weighty/bouncy. I will never do a regular twist out again. The curl pattern from the flat twist is so much more uniform. I dried my hair slightly before twisting it and sealed with a tiny bit of carrot oil.
