It really warms my heart and makes me smile to see a member with a husband, boyfriend, or "friend" who loves their hair. Especially when it's natural... very especially when it's 3c-4b... and wild and free... and especially so when this partner is of another racial background or ethnic heritage known for having hair "unlike" what our stereotypes define it (good, silky, straight, etc.). It just goes to show that all other - race men are not as closeminded as we would like to think they are... and I love how they "love" our hair, especially when sometimes our own men and women (NOT ALL, but some) can make comments to hurt us. My DH loves my hair (he likes trying to sculpt it like a Thundercat, or like Goku in Dragon Ball Z, or twirling it) and my dad really prefers me natural... so I never had those issues, but I've had to deal with negativity from exes.

(This was inspired off d-rock's post - if thats not your date in the siggy... my bad but still).

RIGHT????!!! I thought the SAME thing when I saw her post and her siggy. Soooo sweet.

Not to put my biz out there but I've dated (and even once married) mostly men in my own culture...some wonderful, some not so wonderful. For the 1st time I'm currently dating a man outside my culture and for the 1st time i heard the following suggestion: "honey have u ever thought about going natural? maybe you should." what's shocking is i never considered it before.

sometimes it takes an outsider looking in to make us realize the gifts we have that we either take for granted or think of as a burden. food for thought....

My DH is hispanic like me, I've dated out of my race as well. Some guys are jerks, some are not. I love the fact that my husband accepts me and everything that makes me unique. He knows better than to say anything bad about my hair anyway LOL He tells me he loves me natural or relaxed, that he just wants to see me happy.

And thats the key - getting with someone who wants to see you happy, whether he's white, black, or pink with purple polka dots. :drunk:

I'ved dated lots of races and married outside of my race. I've never been prejudiced, my only requirement as far as outside is that I am attracted to him. I must admit, some of my brotha's were more critical of my hair type. I was relaxed for the most part then, but still brotha's were sort of harsh with the nappy jokes if I stretched really far between relaxers. Dating other races is really cool though, but then again, my thought on that is variety is the spice to life and I want to taste all of the rainbow!

This is why I especially like stories of bm appreciating a sister's natural hair. Its been discussed before how other men will like it more than bm. I'd love to see more stories about bm appreciating it as well cause I know they exist also. :)....right?:look:
