I DONT CO WASH ANYMORE!

Irresistible

Hey! I just realized I have since being in a relationship totally altered my Co Washing. I guess its still a form of it, but what I do is weekly reg rinsing, add my oils and/or conditioner ,whatever I grab or choose, and untill the next rinse 1 week later I leave that in

So basically I am using whatever oils and conditioner I used the week prior to rinse through and out when I rinse again

and you know what......I didnt think about it much and I didnt plan it, but I have to say , ITS WORKING GREAT! whowouldathunkit?

but its definitely adding to the K.I.S.S. routine in big ways

My water comes out my shower head and tub faucet at such an excellent force and flow that it gets all through my hair and scalp soooooo good! That just the rinsing is sufficient! Totally

I know the water is harder where I have moved now , almost a year ago, but even without a filter my hair is doing fine! Will still probably get the filter eventually though

I sort of do that too. I just add more oils or what not and then the next day rinse. I think that's what you were saying. Before, when I used store bought condishes I would put them in my hair and leave it in and rinse a couple of days later. Now I don't get build up with the stuff I mix so I just add and add and add and rinse when I like. But lately I've been wetting my hair everyday in the shower and putting it up wet. My hair is loving it!

yeah its working......

I Just didnt realize I wasnt really Co washing 'technicaly' like I used to anymore

man being in a relationship has changed alot

like sleeping with Conditioners, that went out the window, well I guess I still am, as I am still leaving it in my hair, just not the same ones, and not as much (amount wise) as I used to

Thank God I was single all them years, the hair was first!

I hope this keeps working!

You know what Iris, my man is out of the country. I've been thinking that when he comes back, how will my hair regimen suffer???LOL!

yeah its just not a direct Co Wash , as in apply product just for that purpose and rinse! So hey less waste too!

YEAH it works cause there is no product build up with what I am using now

no more washing, oil rinsing, or conditioner washing

I am just applying product until the next rinse and so on

I've been doing this for a while! The closest I get to a 'cowash' is when I massage whatever I've DC'd with into my hair and rinse it out - and my DC's always have a cleansing element in them - it's truly doing multiple things at once.

I totally agree

even the oils and product and/or conditioner from the previous week are enough for the rinsing

I dont think this would do as well past one week.....mabye a few or days for some, depending on their hair and scalp

That's called the water only method. A lot of women on LHC have great success with it.
funny how everything has a method name now

Now I know what it is I'm is doing! hehe

water only is cool!

I just never would have thought as in to do this purposely because I never would have believed it would have worked

This came from tiredness and trying to have my hair fresh just that once a week when I see him on the weekends, and being worn out from the newness of a relationship and having to adjust to that

funny being forced to eliminate the hair drama I went through before, that I thought I HAD to go through made time for other things

like real life

hehe

Really? We were doing a "method" and didn't know it. My thing was I hated washing out all of my wonderful oils too. I called it a oil rinse/pre poo/ Co wash because I had oils, you know about the pre poo thing( I just slather whatever and it gets absorbed) and then rinse in water a day or so later. The water only method...ha!

lol I'm trippin off that too!

and I'm with you on wasting all that good stuff

what was I thinking?

This is so much better! and sensible!

Ok i am having a dumb moment. I don't understand what you guys are saying.

lmao

well basically is the water method ( we just found that out)

instead of applying Conditioner and rinsing it out right away, we are leaving it in as a product or part of our product regimen , then rinsing the conditioner (and/or other products) out later...for me its a week

so its basically just rinsing I GUESS

The official water only thread on longhaircommunity

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=3412

lol it's so extensive!

GIRL! ok I AINT trippin or nothin but is that mostly a White hair board or white hair thing? The water only.....

I didnt read it all, but they are doing really the more 'water only'

This involves still leaving oils, conditioner and products in , then rinsing later, instead of a direct co wash

So could it still be considered 'water only'?

I didnt read the whole thread so hope u dont mind me asking

hmm well i think that it is still water only since you guys are just rinsing even though you are leaving in conditioners and oils.
And yes it is a predominately light-skinned board but i dunno if it's a white hair thing :look:

Oh ,girl they are talking about having too much oil/sebum with this method and having issues with smell and a waxy feel and what not

or struggling with the method due to oiliness

girl that aint our hair!

we would be more in the spectrum of dryness, for most of our hair types that is

LOL Iris i love you!!!
I know i lurk on there sometimes..a lot of the time they're like "my hair is so oily after washing with shampoo"...and i think "my hair would be dry as the sahara after shampooing :lachen:"
ya'll go ahead with your bad selves

I am pretty sure this is not a "white hair thing" only
I feel like I have read about it over on naturallycurly.com too.
I consider what I do a water only wash too, usually I just rinse out my hair, massage my scalp with the running water and then add in more conditioner as my leave in and thats it. I do this just about everyday.

ok ya'll .......(not directed @ this post directly)

I dont want nobody to get up in arms, my mama is white , half my family. I HAVE NO color or hair issues whatsoever.......ok with that said and out the way now

I'm thinking even on the naturallycurly site you will see alot of actually curly heads, I mean is in actually curly , not what we are calling our hair , tightly curled or tightly coiled

I'm just saying the true' water only ' thread that was posted here, really was water only, they aint tryin to have oil , and are having issues with it

So what I'm saying is, I dont see what I'M doing as water only, because it isnt water only like that thread

and also I Just want to say I dont care what its called either way, it can be called water only by others, makes me no never mind *hehe*

my main point was that thread was different than what I was posting , dats all

I have been cowashing (or whatever you want to call it) this way for 2yrs now. I find it to work much better than when I rinse everything out. Sometimes I do apply conditioner to the hair to detangle and rinse but I always add more when I am finished as a leave in. I wouldn't do it any other way.:drunk:
oh, I only use the cheapies like suave
