I wear protective styles often but haven't been up to spending much time on my hair. Well, after a long hiatus (1.5 years) I brought back my twists today. I can't believe how much my hair has grown since the last time I did them! I plan to keep them in for 4 weeks.

I blow dried my hair using heat protectant and bioinfusion hair lotion. when twisting I applied unrefined shea butter to each section. It took me six hours to complete the twists.

Each of these hair types is excellent for establishing an impressive afro. Ex-Spice Girl Melanie Brown is a prime example of the 3c hair type. Her plentiful bouncy curls grant her the ability to grow a medium sized afro.
One styling difference between the 4a 4b 3c hair type is that the 3c tends to have far more springy hair than the 4s. Hence, straightening this thick curly type can be a bit of an issue. However, type 4s are apparently very versatile where styling issues are concerned. It won't take much for 4s to puff, straighten, braid, or afro their hair. Type 3 retains more shine, so if you can manage a straight style with the aid of smoothing serum and a quality ceramic hair straightener, your style will possess greater shine than your average type 4s.
Regular hot oil treatments are essential if you plan on doing any heat styling. Regardless of your hair type, the most recent heat styling technologies employ ceramic plating and infra-red light to dry and/or straighten the hair. Stay away from metal plates and ordinary hair dryerswhich can further dry out and damage your delicate hair.

OP your hair is on point!!! Do mine, do mine :)

Very nice. WHat will your regimen be for the period when you have them in?

Before I wash, I'm going to try to preserve the length so I won't go heavy on my water based products. I will add a little of Afroveda's totally twisted or shea amla to the ends when my hair feels dry. In about 2 weeks i will have to wash the twists. once my hair is washed i won't be so concerned about reducing shrinkage so i may moisturizes with jheri juice and use vatika oil every other day until i decide to take them down.

lol. small world! :) i may make a vid on maintanence. for now i will try to focus on keep the hair stretched by using moisture "light" products (stuff that adds moisture without really shrinking the hair (i.e. afroveda's shea amla). i'll wash them in 2 weeks and freely moisturize with a water "heavy" product 'til i take them down.

Lovely! I had some mini twists in last week and I can only dream that one day they will be as thick and plentiful as your's.

Wow, I subscribe to you on youtube too..lol! Nice to "see" you on LHCF. I love your channe btw!

Anyhow, your progress is AMAZING and I love your hair! Congrats:)!

I can't believe how much my hair has grown since the last time I did them! I plan to keep them in for 4 weeks.

Does this mean you will still wash your hair? When ever I put in small twists, I still wash my hair, but end up retwisting.

Yes, I will have to wash my twists. After washing I will re-twist a some of the twists in the from and at the crown.
