............................O.K., not for real for real, but I did cut it though!! After my fiasco at the Dominican salon on Saturday http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=167601 I got an itch to want layers again b/c I just didn't like how my hair just "lay there". I wanted them so bad that I decided to do my own!!!

Now there is no rhyme or reason as to how I cut it, (all I know is whatever I did to one side I did to the other:grin:) and I can't say that I really even "cut" it. I would describe it as "giving myself a trim at differents lengths of my hair!" There were no chunks of hair on the floor; in fact, no more than a few inches in strategic places on my head. The main thing is that my hair is not just "laying there".

I like the way it came out and I am still glad that I made the decision I did at the salon on saturday; if I hadn't, it would have been a much different outcome and it's not telling what my head would be looking like now.

The first picture is in February 2007 and was the last time I had a relaxer and also the last color treatment I got as well. The second picture was taken this morning. On both pics, I used the big jumbo flexi rods. (I am still waiting on my hair to "drop".

Nice job the cut really gives your curls more definition you did a good job. Kudos to you for not giving into your stylist's demands. Your hair is really beautiful.

Looks good, Soror! The curls are simply gorgeous. I love that you were able to maintain the thickness with subtle layers:grin:. Very inspiring.

Note to self: figure out how to cut.own.hair.

.....Thanks!
Yes, those layers are verrrryyyyy subtle.Girl, trust me when I tell you that there was hardly any hair on my bathroom floor! (I mean unlike it probably would have been at the salon:ohwell:)

In your fotki album, do you have a discussion on how you managed to transition without cutting all your hair off?
