So, today I finally did it. I went to Walmart and bought an avacado to put on my head. I have been transitioning since last Feb. and while it has gotten soooo much easier, there is a problem with balance. What my relaxed hair responds gloriously to certain things while my natural hair doesn't and vice versa.
Well, I sliced the avacado up and then pureed it in the blender with a little bit of water and added a shot of coconut oil. Frankly I wasn't expecting too much but meh...whatever. I sectioned the hair and used a coloring brush and my fingers to apply.
I did all this on dry hair then put on a plastic cap and skull cap. (its better than a towel )
Watched tv and messed around on the internet about an hour or so then took off the cap.
I couldn't believe it! The natural hair was in the nicest corkscrew curls and both textures were well moisturized!! I washed it out and am now conditioning with Motions. So....avacado is now a staple. My whole head felt great during the wash. I couldn't believe it. Maybe my texture war is over!
The only thing I would do different is to be sure I puree enough because I'm still finding chunks in my head.
Just thought I would share!
