Family can be the worst critics but they will take sides with you in the end. Keep your head high and make sure you show us the results.

twists outs, flat twists, braids different things along this line will give you the uniform look you want but hang in there the longer the hair gets it shouldn't be so noticeable or at least as challenging to handle.

Textures & Tones is a good box dye to use. I used it in Bronze and got my current color, which turned out to be a deep auburn.
