heirloom - OMG - thank you so much for this very wonderful compliment and thought (the prayer). Which leads me to my suggestion to you. PRAY and FAST.
I tell you heirloom "prayer changes thing" If you want to get into the UNI - pray; if you need financial assistance - pray; if you need wisdom - PRAY and since you have plenty of time on your hand to study- PRAY and study The Word (Bible) so you will develop a relationship with Him who can and will provide your every need.

His Word says: You have not because you ask not!!! ~ How simple is that??:yep:


This thread is helping me also. I see where I need to improve week to week. And TBH when I don't have an update in a particular error - I know that I need focus in this area.

I'm a community activist/community organizer..But,my passion is entrainment..
 
Coming from a political family..Got stuck doing that..My education is in broadcasting...Just excited about being on a set again..I'm a writer as well...

Prayer works,God is in charge..

Still on top of my bible reading. However I've hit a snag w/the hCG & the weightloss b/c of my TOM & yesterday I was just down in the dumps & cheated on the diet & had 2 porkchops & 1/2 of a granola bar.

I'm back on track today. I was down 14 pounds as of yesterday & have 27 more to go. In the next month or so I will be starting a new job that will allow me to start working on some more of the things on my list. In the hair department, I joined NJoy's growth challenge & have a very ambitious goal of WL by the end of this year & HL by the end of May next year!

jprayze - FANTASTIC!! We will be waiting and excited to read your regimen. When I read many of your posts it is obvious that you "ain't playibn' ' with your hair growth and your focus has gotten results.

nakialovesshoes - don't consider your "splurging" a snag consider it your cheat day - and cheat days are allowed in any weight production system. So just KIM and do that thing!

a generic multi (waiting for this to run out to get something better)
2 calcium/vit D
At least 1 Viviscal/day (sometimes 2)
At least 1 Maca (sometimes 2)
3 fish oils (sometimes I forget these)
UPDATE: I'm phasing out viviscal because I am running out and replacing with MSm 1000 mg. 04/17/2013 Moving up to 2000 mg MSM/day.
-growth aids - MN, sulfur (liquid gold), JBCO
-protective styling
-limit heat
-preventive dusting

Weight/Diet/Exercise/Health: go down to 135 and stay there. I need to lose 5 inches from my waist. I would like improved muscle tone all the way around. Consistent healthy lifestyle. Starting at 148.
-follow abs diet/exercise plan for structure
-my fitness pal
-weigh measure/weekly
--get enough rest (at least 7 hours/night) - will help me feel better and I will be able to exercise more
UPDATE: Not doing well with any of this. Up now when I should be sleep!

Relationships: A year ago, I was hoping and praying with no real prospects. Holding on to hope but getting discouraged. Last Fall, God answered EVERY prayer, every little detail when I met my honey. Now I expect that He will propose soon!!!:drunk:

I want to continue to learn about how to be a Godly wife and in the meantime, continue to get to know my SO even better and enjoy our relationship.

--With God - increase prayer life and read Word everyday
UPDATE: Signed up for 2 online devotionals to read daily.

Finance: better steward altogether. Maintain an EF at all time and cut current credit card in half by steppin out time (mid 2014). I'm a member of the Dave Ramsey challenge.

UPDATE: Trying to finish my EF for Dave Ramsey Baby Step #1 by June and move to Step #2.

Vision: LASIK surgery, no glasses
*already had consultation, just need to schedule the procedure

UPDATE: It's been almost a year since my last consultation, so I had to schedule another one (04/19/2013).

Fashion: develop personal style and dress for body type (aka recreate my closet) within budget
*purchase quality staples
Buy one luxury bag - that will be my stepping out gift.

Employment: Find a place with current employer where I am happier and can utilize my skills sets the most. - Just started a new mentoring relationship today!!!:grin:

Home: maintain a beautiful, clean home at all times. (With help from Flylady) get rid of clutter - 40 bags or items by September 2013 Haven't started yet!
UPDATE: 04/11/2013 - decluttered one drawer and got rid of 1 bag of trash, 39 more to go. 04/17/2013 - donated 1 bag and got rid of another bag of trash. 37 more to go.

Teeth - orthodontic work to touch up previous work (almost 20 years ago...ok I feel old now), also want to get them whitened, Need to schedule consultation (after LASIK)

Overall self enhancement-- READ! Take time and read a book or magazine. (Finish 2/Mo starting in April.) - in the process of reading several, just need to finish one of them.

Books Read
1. Read the May issue of Essence. Not every word, but took the time to read through it.

I ain't playing either!
Here are my goals:

1. Get my weight down once and for all. I am currently 153 pounds and i want to be 130 pounds (i'm 5'4'').
How am I gonna make it? My tried and tested way of the plate method diet for three meals a day, plus a healthy snack.

2. I am currently APL getting closer to BSL. This time next year I will be graduating my iBSc and i want to have FULL BSL to show for it. I AIN'T PLAYING. I'm hiding my hair under crochet braids for a month or two at a time and i had BETTER have something to show for it!

3.Improving my social links. I want to get out there and meet more people. I will be taking up volunteering again after my exams and rejoining all the societies I gave up to get through this tough year of med school.

4. I will be 21 next year. I want a big bash because I feel I haven't shown out on my birthday since I was 8! It's time...limo, and everything!.

5. Finances...I spend the VAST MAJORITY of my money after rent on FOOD. Unecessary JUNK! It's time to stop this..this will also help in my weight loss goals.

6. Fitness..my goal right now is to build more muscle to raise my metabolism and to look less...soft LOL. I want to feel strong and lithe and healthy!

7. Relationships....personally I know I need to learn to go for what I want, but at the same time learn to be even happier on my own. I want to be with the right person, and don't want to waste time with games.

8. Beautiful living...as weird as this sounds i want to inject more beauty into my life. The little things like a more minimalist living space, beautiful but sturdy clothes and shoes and accessories, beautiful (but not over-) eating..really paying attention to my surroundings and what I put into and on my body. I figure I'm worth it? LOL

9. And my main goal...EXCEL IN MEDICAL SCHOOL. I have finally figured out the best way of revision for me and plan to ride that to the top. I want to be the best doctor I can be for my patients!!

So this time next year, I want to be a successful student with longer hair, a slimmer body, a clean living space and minimal toxicity in my relationships.
...is that too much to ask? :lachen:

Congratulations to you and your SO!!! It is so rewarding having "that person" in your life. One of my goals, as you may have read, is for the blessing of an "equally yoked" SO. And I am preparing for his arrival with my other goals. :lol:
Don't know if you have checked out the Oil pulling thread - but OP helps to whiten teeth. Also, brushing with baking soda followed by a good gargle after.
I had Lasik surgery in 2000 - it was just becoming the "in thing" and was costly at the time. BUT to me it was worth EVERY cent. Although I noticed my vision isn't as sharp as it was right after the surgery, which is to be expected, it is still very good. I only need reading glasses when the print is very small. The surgical cost distributed over 13 years, compared to eye exams, contacts, glasses, sunglasses, cleaners, etc. is nominal. I am sooo glad I had the procedure. Good luck when you have yours.
 
In keeping with the whole beauty thaaannngg, right now I'm focusing on making sure my meals are as good to my eyes and nose as they are to my stomach. Loads of aromas, spices, colourful veggies, lean meats, trying different grains , seeds and fruit. Making food a pleasure and not just a rush job loool. I sometimes fall into the trap of eating stodgy, one colour crap :lachen:

Let me at this thread! No more slacking. I'm a student but no longer about that student life! I want more. I'll set my goal date as May 2014 too so that I'm more likely to stick with it

Hair Goal: APL December 2013, On My Way to BSL May 2014
Regimen- weekly prepoo, wash and DC
Relax every 13 weeks
Bi-weekly moisturise and seal
PS- braids and buns
I need to sort out a regimen for my
nape cos it's not doing so good :(

Uni Goal: Graduate With A Distinction
-Stay on top of my uni work ALL the damn time and become a distinction student, but still have a life!
-2 hours daily dedicated to going over each days lectures.
-starting assignments as soon as I'm given them
-preparing for each clinical session beforehand


Training Goal: Half Marathon Sept 2014
-Keep up with my running training plans. Currently doing a 5k program and running every other day.
-Add minor exercise sessions on rest days (Zumba on wii or crunches/press ups)


Social Goal: Make Socialising A Breeze May 2014
-unfortunately sometimes I find socialising draining and would rather stay home because of slight anxiety but it's time to let that go.
-taking advantage of invitations even when I don't want to
-talking to people outside my comfort zone a little everyday.
