I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

Indian women (from India) have some of the prettiest, thickest, jet black hair I have ever seen!! I am on a rotation with an Indian lady and I always compliment her hair. Just lovely!!

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

you ain't neva lied! :rolf:

One of my ex-roomates had some wonderful hair. One day after coming from the beauty salon, she told me that her stylist said that he could't find a single split hair. She had bra-strap hair w/ highlights! Even with the color it was that healthy?!

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

They have. I think it's got a lot to do with their diet. I knew one chinese girl and she had the thickest hair, it was like copper wire, about 5 times thicker than mine and never would hold a curl.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

That's true...that's why my Indian weave looks so healthy /images/graemlins/lachen70.gif...I luv it. It takes every type of abuse that I would NEVER apply to my own hair.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

That is so true. I didn't know they used oils and certain products to grow their hair long like that until I came here.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

I know what you mean SweetNic! /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

I heard that they use a lot of coonut oil on their hair.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

Their hair is nice, but you can't do too much with it other than wear it straight. No braidouts for them /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

They definitely do. I also like Hawaiian/Polynesian women's hair. So lush and beautiful. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

The young Indian lady I talked to wants to straighten her hair. I was not trying to be mean, but I told her that if she started doing that, her hair may end up stringy looking, then I pointed to some white ladies in front of us /images/graemlins/look.gif Tatyani Ali has the same type of hair, but that's understandable since she's mixed with Panamanian and West Indian.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

Another thing- have you all seen their hair in one braid? /images/graemlins/love.gif /images/graemlins/ill.gif

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

this is interesting - a friend of mine lives in an area with a high indian population and she told me that sometimes they shave off little girls' hair when they think it is growing in too thin. Has anyone else heard of that?

Jennifer, so true. One of my friends (she's Indian) said that black women have the prettiest hair she's ever seen because we can do so many pretty styles and not just wear it straight. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've heard non-black women say this also. I have to agree that the versatility is awesome! /images/graemlins/up.gif

Ive always wondered this myself. I always thought it was a religious thing.
There are a lot of Indian women in my school so every day I see beautiful, long, lush gorgeous heads of hair. One girl even told me she attributes her length to blessed milk.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

I'd say that a lot of Indian ladies do have some shiny, healthy looking hair. But if given the chance to trade hair, I'd keep my afro-tastic hair. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

ITA. I always get compliments on my hair from this Indian women in my class. She tells me when she likes a certasin style Im wearing. She knows Im crazy about hair and she gave me a recipe of Henna, tea, and lemon juice to use to help w/ my hair shedding. I havent used it yet, but I will post about my results.
I also agree, she has some pretty skin also.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

Their hair is a wonderful inspiration for me. I love their curls. i can achieve that look sometimes with a rollerset.

Re: I ain\'t gonna even lie ...

A lot of them do.

In college I had two Indian roommates and like us, they have diff. hair textures as well. One had straight hair and one had thick 3A hair that she blowried or flatironed almost everyday. They both used Pantene products. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

My sister is like that...she "good hair" and she hates it because she can not wear all the styles that someone with say a 4a or 3c can.
