i need to know! my hair type is 4a/4b fine.. since my hair is fine.. its goes limp very easily... any suggestion on light moisturizers...

Have you tried using a little leave-in? That's what I do when I'm freshly relaxed, because I don't want to weigh my hair down. I've been using HE LTR Leave-In lately, just so my hair can still be moisturized. But once it thickens up a bit, I'll be back to Elasta QP Mango Butter. HTH.

My hair is easily weighted down too. What helps me is being very mindful of what conditioners I use. I really don't even have to use a moisturizer most of the time now. I also use plently of leave in when I rollerset.

Any other time I like BB castor oil lotion, that is a cheapie, ors olive oil cream, and just a touch of jane carter nourish and shine.

FoxieRoxy did a post about Sebastian potion#9 which is supposed to be a nice light "moisturizer" so you might want to check it out.

HTH

Gym, what up, ma?

You recommended Paul Mitchell Detangler in another thread, and it works on my girls like a charm! How is the Supercharged different?

Also, I have never tried Kenra....but it sounds yummy. I may pick up later in the summer time.

Whats up LadyE! How is da baby? :)

I am glad the detangler is working. Artemis put me on do that and the Supercharged. Supercharged is PM's deep moisturizing conditioner. Very creamy, nice smell and feels really good going on. Alot of relaxed and natural heads use it. I leave it on for as little as 5 minutes or as long as 30 and it gives me very soft hair after I rollerset. It has soy protein in it pretty high on the ingredient list so I would put it in the same category as ORS replenishing. Its similar but gives more moisture. You can find a small tube of it at Ulta for like 5-6 bucks if you just want to try it out on the little one.

I have both a Paul Mitchell beauty school and an Ulta less than a mile from me...so if I like the small tube, I'll pick up the big one later at the school.

You are one of my favorite posters. You know your stuff.

ETA: my lil man is due in less than 2 mths and is kicking my behind.

Aww, thanks :sneakyhug: You have one of my favorite Fotki's, so organized:yep:

A great way to keep relaxed hair moisturized is to apply a great leave in treatment and a "small amount" of moisturizer on towel dried hair prior to rollersetting, molding or blow drying. after styling you hair will be light bouncy and moisturized. It works for me every time:yep:

That's what I meant. Sometimes instead of using something super creamy, I'll use a little leave-in (which is usually mostly water-based) when I want my hair to be moisturized but still light. I switch up my moisturizers just so my hair won't get too used to one thing.

I think we have a similar hair type. ORS olive oil cream moisturizer works well for me, but you have to be very careful not to get heavy handed.

I've found less is more. When I moisturize, my hair seems to get drier quicker. But when I don't my natural oils keep my hair pretty moisturized.

I also have fine 4a/b hair and Jane Carter Hair Nourishing Cream is the best moisturizer hands down!!!:yep:

I just purchased and tried this on Sunday!! It is actually very good and it takes a lot for me to say that. I'm a Mizani H20 Nightime fan...I've purchased 25 jars in the last month and distributed to friends and co-workers.

However I found Jane Carter to be very satisfying...plus it's not as wet as Mizani and I don't think it has mineral oil in it....forgive me I've misplaced glasses and can not read the fine print.

Since I wash every 3 to 4 days, my hair stays moisturized until the next wash day. My leave-in helps also after I rinse out my conditioner. I do moisturize my ends daily since ends begin to dry out as soon as they are exposed to air.
