I currently trying to grow my hair out after several failed attempts (I had to cut off at least 5 inches at one time because my hair was so thin and damaged)

I have 4a/4b hair that is fine. I understand that moisture is extremely important trying to grow your hair out but how do you prevent that heavy feeling?

I currently wash my hair once a week.

If you don't want your hair weighed down, then use a good deep conditioner with heat (I use LUST - L'Oreal Unfrizz Smoothing Treatment and Cream of Nature Nourishing Conditioner; others use every thing from Motions Moisture Plus to Lekair Cholesterol). After that, just follow up with a good oil (I use Protective 3-in-1 Phase Oil and coconut oil; others use Hot Six Oil and other essential oils). Do a search for deep conditioners and oils for more suggestions. To avoid weighing hair down, don't overdo oils and try to steer clear of grease. Hope this helps
