how to get rid of nits and lice?

neem oil works - you can get it in indian shops. Saturate your scalp and strands in the oil, put a plastic bag over your head (if a child, be careful - children and plastic don't mix - watch her/ him like a hawk) for a few hours - heat your head under a dryer for 10 minutes (before leaving it for the few hours) - then wash out with specialized nit shampoo and/ conditioner.

there are a few e.o.'s that help with lice, i can't remember off the top of my head (i think cinammon and cedar?) that you can include in your spritz and spray your scalp regularly.

if you could get a manuka balm (manuka is new zealandian tree oil which is popular here for nits) and apply it to your scalp, its all good.

keep your scalp clean though, it seems that nits/ lice dont like clean scalps. Also, boil your sheets, pillowcases, towels and what not. Vacum your floors daily for two weeks to a month until the infestation clears.

regards

ana
