I got the New Growth Blues.

This new growth is getting on my nerves. It is like bumping up a everyday and I doesnt act hair friendly anymore. I am not even 8 weeks post. How soon is too soon to get a retouch?

How much new growth do you have? If it's at least an inch, it's ok to go ahead and relax after six weeks. I wouldn't relax before six weeks though.

If I were you I'd try to wait until 8 weeks post at least. I used to relax every 6 weeks but that's when my hair was shorter. I think it's more difficult to stretch the shorter it is. It was like ear length when I relaxed every 6 weeks. How long is your hair now? Maybe you can blow dry the roots or flat iron your roots in order to go another 2 weeks.

If you are going to wait, try putting some moisturizer on your new growth. It should soften it up a bit so it won't be so annoying to you. Then tie your scarf to smooth it down and keep it moving.

Maybe your stylist didn't leave the relaxer in long enough. Try to wait at least six weeks if you can.

I know my friend gets her hair relaxed way too much it's still healthy but sometimes I feel hair stylists do this to keep you getting relaxers which equals more money.

imo

Definitely an inch in the center going to the back .
About 1/2 inc at back toward nape.
The front is all over the place. 1/2 inc - 3/4 inch.
I was hoping to get a full 2 inches to retouch but I am just afraid that my hair is going to start shedding.

This was my first relaxer since about 2yrs.

I was thinking about just doing the back but that was before I felt up the front today and it was about 1/2 inch. I think I might be able to hold hold off until after Christmas. I just moisturized it and put some coconut oil on it. That seemed to lay it back down. I will do a doobie tonight with my silk scarf.
