How soon do you have to wait after having a relaxer to do a sew in? I know your hair is at its weakest point when it is freshley relaxed. Do you need to wait 3 - 4 weeks or when you have alot of new growth? Please help me decide.

They say to wait two weeks. I have gotten a weave as early as 5 days with no adverse affects. But everyone is different. I would wait 2wks

Two weeks...........

I agree...I got a relaxer and 3 days later I had to put in a full head sew-in for a hair mag shoot. (I usually do not wear weaves) It was a nightmare :nono: my scalp was so sore I had to take it out a couple days later.

dang. i guess i'm playin it safe. i was going to wait until i was 8 weeks post to put in a weave. i'm still going to wait though. i may even wait until 12 weeks so that way if i keep my weave in for 2 to 3 months, i'll be 5 to 6 months post. i'll only b relaxing 2 times a year. that's my goal. i'm goin to get my first sew in weave on December 5th. i'll b 8 weeks post then.
