How often do you wash your hair?

Wow seems like a few of us are washin on the same schedule. /images/graemlins/cool.gif I do a hot oil treatment and CO wash on Tuesday nights. Friday nights I do another hot oil treatment but I let it sit till Saturday morning. (sleep with a plastic cap under my satin scarf) Then I wash with shampoo and do a deep conditioner. I do this whether I'm wearing braids or not.

I mostly air dry my hair but I always put leave ins and gels or carrot oils to slick it back and tie it down. I have yet to really wear my hair out except for one day when I tried my Jilbere for the first time /images/graemlins/grin.gif. It's almost always either in braids or in a drawstring ponytail of some kind. I think when it gets longer I'll probably wear it out more.

Now that I'm on the no shampoo routine, I wash my hair daily.

When I used shampoo I washed my hair once every 3 days.

When you say "no shampoo" do you mean you are doing conditioner washes or using something else? I'm always confused when people say that. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hi enyaa /images/graemlins/grin.gif

It means that I am washing my hair with conditioner.

HTH

I usta wash twice a week. But now, I am doing the No poo washes. Although I condition my hair every day (daily rinse), Shampoo only touches my hair once a month.

I usually wash with elucence shampoo twice a week (conditioner washes don't work for me /images/graemlins/frown.gif). But when I have a lot of new growth (like now) i cut back to once a week so that i don't bother my hair too much. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I wash my hair once a week but starting next week I will increase to twice a week. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

if i'm doin' the wash n go, i'll wash every 5 or 6 days cuz with all the moisturizers it starts to get limp by then. otherwise, every two weeks. i also wash every week when i wear a weave. i don't like to wash too often, and i don't like my hair to feel weighed down, so all the products i use are light for the most part.

I voted "Once A Week" but it's really every 3-4 days, somtimes I get lazy and it's 5 but definiately not longer than that.

Whats' a "Fortnight"???

Nevemind, I asked before I saw your answer

See you wash your hair everday without problems.

Why does the industry say thats to much for our hair and that it strips the hair?

ngaa /images/graemlins/drunk.gif
p.s. a fortnite is two weeks

Hi Pandora/images/graemlins/wave.gif

I wash 3x weekly. My scalp has to be clean /images/graemlins/smile.gif My hair is very thick so I feel my scalp gets to be the cleanest if I wash at least 3x's per week.

Every two weeks. I wish I could wash my hair at least once a week because it feels dirty after like a week, but my mom complains about how i'm only going to get my hair frizzy and if I wash my hair every two weeks she'll stop taking me to get my hair done at the hair dresser. I've pretty much given up on asking her.

i think in the past people said dont shampoo the hair too much due to the harshness of shampoos then. nowadays you get SLS free shampoos and specialised moisturizing shampoos and gentle shampoos that can be used each day without problems. it all depends on which type of shampoo you use to wash your hair.

i remember reading carolyn grays book and her saying that hair needs to be washed maximum once a week and that dryer hair needs to be washed LESS frequentls. i was like /images/graemlins/shocked.gif when i read this and emailed her about it. she replied that this was what she thought when she wrote the book. she now realsies that washing is actually good and the only precaution is finding a good moisturizing shampoo!

i also notice that cathy howse does not recommend using large anount of shampoo and motions lavish shampoo bottle notes that for weekly washing only 'a very small amount' of shampoo should be used.

I wash about every 4 to 5 days or whenever my curls from my set doesn't look good, but in the summer more often about every 3 days. gotta keep that scalp clean.

mee too. usually on a Sat. However I am trying to change this so that I do not spend the entire day doing my hair!

Approx every 3/4 days when I have a rollarset. But when exercising, after each session (conditioner only washes) which is usually every other day.

<font color="brown">As a rule, I wash my hair every 4 days. However, I sometimes go 5 days if I am really busy, but never longer than that.

Right now just once a week...but when I start working out again (M-F)I'm going to try daily conditioner washes. Then use shampoo Friday, the last day in my workout week. On Monday, start the conditioner washes again...

When I answered this poll, I washed my hair twice a week. Now I wash my hair once a day, somtimes twice if I use gel in the morning.
