How often do you use a fine tooth comb? Rollerset?

The only fine tooth comb I use is a rattail comb for parting only-never to comb.

I'm trying desperately to thicken my hair. To do so, I feel I must avoid my rat tail comb and not rollerset as often as I do. I know a lot of you have thick hair and I was wondering how often do you all use a fine tooth comb and how often do you rollerset?

It depends on how many weeks post relaxer I am.

First six weeks: Wash and set 3 times per week. Use fine-toothed comb AFTER detangling with shower comb only when wet-setting hair. I dry set every night and use a regular comb for that because I don't need a fine-toothed come on dry hair.

After six weeks: Wash and set 2 times per week. Use a size larger than the ultra fine-toothed comb AFTER detangling with a shower comb. Follow the same pattern when rollersetting dry hair nightly.

I have too much new growth after six weeks to use an ultra fine-toothed comb. Since I wear phony buns all the time, I don't really need my hair that straight anyway.
