I have tried searching this topic but did not really come up with anything!!!I am currently texlaxed and my last relaxer was jan 16th with Mizani Butter blends!
I am thinking about self relaxing tomorrow but I am not sure if I should!
I live in Germany and can't get Mizani here n e where, when I relaxed I did it at a salon in New york!
The only Relaxer that I can get here thats half way good would be ORS but I don't want my hair bone straight so I dont know if ORS can even be used as a texlaxer!!!
I desperatley need your help ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I chose 8-10 weeks....Against the better judgement of my stylist I was relaxing about every 9-10 weeks, heck some months maybe 7-8 weeks.....we'd argue and I'd win (but was I really winning LOL)...but now I'm on week 16 of my stretch and she'd like to see me at 24 weeks if not further....so we'll see...I've heard girls using ORS as long as you aren't working it through and smoothing and all that good stuff it should be ok as a textlaxer.........I'd say you know your hair and you know what you want your hair to do and how you want it to lay.....Since you are almost at 13 weeks I'd say you should be ok....But at the end of the day its your hair, do what you feel.

I just relaxed after 17 weeks of stretching. I don't think I'm texlaxed but I'm definitely not bone straight. My stylist uses Mizani Mild butter blends. However, when I do my own hair I use mild ORS. I dont know why you couldn't use ORS mild and use whatever texlaxing procedure you always do. I personally like ORS alot and I think if you add oils, etc...you could have a good texlax with it. Good luck!

You can add oils to ORS relaxer to slow down the processing time, that way you'll end up texlaxed :yep:

I relax every 12 weeks

I relax around every 10 weeks..my longest stretch was 12 weeks...and that was too much for me to handle!

I use Optimum Bodifying relaxer for Fine Hair..and I like it !

Somewhere between 12 to 16 weeks. Last year, I tried to stretch to over 30 weeks, it was quite difficult because it was my very first time stretching that far. I may try it again this summer, who knows :)

I don't know, just depends, right now I'm about 19 weeks post relaxer, its cool..I might just relax in June...I checked 14-18 weeks.

I've never used ORS, but my sister is a self-relaxer and loves ORS products, however she does relax straight. You could get a texlax with ORS by just adding oil and/or shortening processing time.

I checked "14-18" weeks, but 14 is my limit.

I usually do a relaxer every 8-10 weeks....this Summer i might try to stretch for 12 like i did last summer. I use S&B regular formula relaxer...it comes with oil now...but i also add about 1 or 2 tablespoons of EVOO to it because i'm texlaxing this year as well...works perfectly!

Minimum 14 weeks without too many problems. I'll be doing 20 weeks for my next stretch as I did last year. I'm also going to self-relax using Phyto - I'm well scared, but I think I'm ready!!

I relax every 6 or 12 MONTHS. I don't use ORS. You should try adding argan and sheabutter to it ... a little of each.

My last touch/up relaxer was I think the end of December. I didn't even write it down this time, so I'm not really sure. I have no plans of relaxing anytime soon.

i've streched for 4mths and my hair broke off badly. i'll have to cut that down to 2 mths to retain length.

Usually every 16 weeks...but I've gone longer (unintentionally). I'm not relaxed bone-straight.

Now that I've rediscovered braid-outs, I'll probably be able to do another 6 month stretch without breakage, or possibly transition...

No advice on self relaxing because i choose not to at this point. But i usually stretch my relaxers every 16 wks.
