How Often Do You Oil Your Scalp?

@Bibliophile, re the bolded, please explain what this is/symptoms. Thanks.

The hair is lighter in color, feels dry & has a chipped appearance compared to the rest of the hair. The damage lessens as you move underneath towards the ears & nape.

My sister, a licensed cosmotologist showed me when I went for a press/trim.
My underlayers were fine. She could tell when I started oiling again. The new growth was dark, thick normal. I couldn't see my crown & wore my hair unstretched.
The only thing I noticed was the dryness. I thought it was a porosity issue.

I oil every 2-3 days with jbco & evco mix. Then I massage for a couple of minute. I've been doing this for a few months & I Can tell my ng is softer.

Only for prepoo once a week but I dont purposely oil my scalp. I oil my hair and what gets on my scalp is incidental

As of this week I have been doing it daily. I have only been doing that because I am in cornrows.
