If I am using Wild Growth Oil (WGO) I use it every day. If I am using Boundless Tresses (BT) I use it every other day. I don't know how to explain it, it just seems like WGO absorbs into my hair and scalp and BT coats the hair. I could use WGO every day for a week and not feel oily build up. Those are the only two oils I put on my scalp.
If you feel like you should oil every day because your hair seems to need it then do so. Don't just do it because of something you read on the forum. Also, be sure you have the right oil for the result you want.
i don't really oil my scalp daily.... maybe weekly, and not everywhere. mostly the crown because for some reason it is coarser and rougher than the rest of my hair. my hair is fine so it gets oily a little faster than most i suppose.
Used to be everyday, now I do this about 3x a week usually with an essential oil mix of either rosemary, thyme, cedarwood etc or peppermint - the base of these mixes are usually jojoba oil. I get increased stimulation and blood circulation from these oils as well as the massaging motion. My new growth is easier to comb if oiled too.
to be honest. the only time i find myself doing that is in the winter. I cowash a lot all year round...and in the winter my scalp is dry and itchy. so i'll oil it with shea oil. but not much. usually the crown area. but i only do it as needed
