How often do you moisturize your hair/scalp?

Today I did something I've never done -- I moisturized my scalp. My mom and grandma used to do it when braiding my hair when I was a kid. But I've never really bothered to do it myself. Usually I just slather a bunch of stuff on my hands and then run my fingers through my hair -- so I get the "exposed" hair, but rarely get the scalp. Tonight while putting in my rollers, I put a touch of olive oil between each part. I'm really excited to see how it comes out! Anyways, that just got me wondering what other folks did.

Thanks!

I wash frequently and moisturize daily. My skin in general tends to be dry; there's no reason for me to think my scalp would be any different from the rest of my body.

One of the best pieces of advice I have learned here is to treat my hair (and scalp) the same as I would out of braids as I do in braids. Wash, condition, moisturize. So far, the amount of new growth says it's working.

I oil my scalp after every conditioner wash so 2-3x per week. When I do oil my scalp I use a mix of Wonder 8 Oil/Hollywood' Carrot oil. My scalp and re-growth loves this combo. :)

i moisturize my scalp every time i wash, which is once a week. i have to use a medicated scalp oil for my psoriasis. i like it because my doctor also prescribes it to patients for thinning hair. i guess the cortisteroid helps with that. i think it helps me not lose quite so much in general.

oh yeah, i moisturize my hair after each wash as well. i may do it again one or two times within the week, but it's not as necessary because of the baggie trick.

I only moisturize my hair. My scalp gets moisturized when I wash it and my hair twice each week.

i moisturize my scalp about every other day or two days. I just recently started to moisturize my actual hair (more the ends than the actual shaft)after not doing it for about 5 years.

i moisturize my hair once a week cause its in twists. If my ends are dry, Ill put a lil xtra avocado butter on them

I oil my scalp every other day with Jamaican Black Castor oil
OT: WildChild- I am in love with your twists!!!!

I moisterize my scalp with Doo Grow Grease mixed with Glovers at the moment. I would say I grease my scalp only when my scalp starts to itch or I notice that it is too dry from the looks. This occur I would say only once or twice a week.

There have been times that I moisturized every other day and there have been times I moisturized every day. It is very easy for my scalp to get flaky and I hate that. For me, my scalp feels really good each day when I mist it with my moisturizer every day. Sometimes I follow the moisturizer with aloe vera gel or with an oil/oily moisturizer.

I moisturize my hair almost everyday. I usually don't go past two days without something on my hair. On my scalp, I usually put jojoba oil (mixed with lavender essential oil), or rosemary oil w/olive oil, Surge lotion #9, emu oil, or coconut oil.

On my ends, it's mostly organic coconut oil, Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey, hemp seed butter, or Surge #9. If I'm wearing it curly, then I pack on some conditioner (either Elucence MB, Rusk Smoother, Alba Botanica Mango, or Pau Mitchell The Conditioner or NTM leave-in)

My hair is very dry and porous and soaks up moisture like crazy, so I have to constantly moisturize it. But I make sure to clarify with each wash to get rid of any excess build up.

I moisturize my scalp with boundless tresses every other day. I moisturize my hair with either ORS Olive oil or Jane Carter Nourish and Shine every day and sometimes twice a day.

I moisturize my hair daily - the only thing I put on my scalp is Lenzi's. I stopped putting 'stuff' on my scalp when I had dreads, as it was obvious then that my head didn't need it....

I moisturize both my hair an scalp everyday. Sometimes I do it 2x's a day on my hair. My hair just loves it  .

The only thing i put on my scalp is MTG, when im in the mood. I moisturize the ends with ORS Olive Oil or Carrot Oil, then seal w/Vaseline or some other cheapie grease.
