I do it everyday, even though I dont wash my hair everyday :ohwell: I think thats too much so I just wanted to hear when you guys do it and how :)

My hair only needs detangling after I wash it (once a week). I part my hair in four sections and start from the bottom and work up with my large toothed comb. As I do each section I put some oil or other leave in conditioner on my hair. Then after I do each section I comb it all through again all at once but not necessarily in sections.

Once a week before I wash. I separate into sections, detangle with fingers then with a seamless comb. If I have a lot of ng I finish by running the Denman brush through a section once to remove shed hair.

every other day, in the shower. but i'd never use a comb; i detangle under running water using my fingers + a conditioner with a lot of slip.

I finger detangle every time I condition but i do a thorough detangling with a comb once a month.

I detangle after every CW (3-4 times per week). Most of the times its with my conair shower comb.

hmmm. would say twice a day... im not if you would consider this detangling but i comb my hair in the money when i take it out my wrap and then i comb it again before i got to bed to make sure there are not tangles...

Frequently. Every third day is the longest I will go without combing out the tangles/knots. I use a seamless comb, carefully, and never on dry hair. I always finger comb first.

My hair only needs detangling after washing it, and that's usually once a week.

I am relaxed and my hair just does not get tangled up. Even on wash day, I detangle in the shower under water with a shower comb so shen I am done I don't really need to detangle out of the shower.

I do comb my hair though, so maybe that is why my hair pretty much stays untangled.

I comb my hair out (or detangle) once per week.

I do it in sections - about 8-12 - and take my time.

When I'm not in braids, I detangle once every 7-14 days after washing.

I am relaxed too, but you are blessed to not have tangly hair. Whew do I dread wash days. I have to detangle before and after washing and all days in between. I have a lot of underprocessed hair that needs correcting when I do relax.

After DCing with Kenra for 20 minutes, I comb with my shower comb thru before I rinse. This works better for me because I can see what Im doing and since my water pressure is low it doesn't help. Also DCing for too long dries out my hair and makes detangling harder. After I rinse out the Kenra I detangle with Just for me Detangler which has great ingredients and works so well on my hair.

Once per week (wash day), I detangle my hair, with my fingers while it's still dry, starting at my ends and working upward. I find that when I do this, my hair is much easier to detangle with my shower comb after it is wet.

Once a week on wash day. I keep my hair bunned all week and don't comb it, just groom the top. Nevertheless by wash day it is still tangled at the roots :perplexed due to shedding, I guess. I soak it in oil, gently pull it apart with my fingers, and comb it through. Then I conditioner wash it and comb again to get all the shed hairs.

Well I am texlaxed. I don't know, I just don't have to do much detangling. I do think combing under the running water with my shower comb makes a HUGE difference. If I skip this step, I do have more tangles.

These are the times when I've noticed tangles:

-when I tried the no-comb thing. :ohwell: Didn't work for me.
-when I stretch too long
-when I wash my hair in the sink and not in the shower (I just don't do that anymore)
-when I skip the shower comb under the running water of the shower step.
-when I don't use fermodyl 619 or similar product (although fermodyl is my one and only)
-when I manipulate my hair too much while washing or when putting in conditioner. Then again the shower comb under running water step fixes that. I use a comb similar to the Jilbere shower Comb but it is by Rusk.
