how often do you check your hair length?

It used to be once a day
I can honestly say once a year (twice at most). Now that I'm past bsl I don't really care about length anymore. When it happens it happens. I enjoy where I am now very much :yep:

I do a rough check once a month, meaning I stretch my hair without heat to check length but starting next year I will only check at beginning, middle and end of year. It's driving me crazy, lol

...every waking moment :look: Just kidding.. Well not really. I check every two days. I just can't help it

I measure my hair at the end of every month. I'm trying to figure out my hair growth. I've guessed at it over the years but now I'm actually measuring it and journaling my results.

I used to do it monthly when I was tracking hair growth. Now it is probably quarterly or whenever the length challenges call for it.

Not often enough like I used to. I also bun it up too much! :)

That's why I joined the WL 2015 challenge. I have to check in on certain dates with pics. :yep:

Annually.

I used to check it quarterly but I'm a slow grower and that just proved to be annoying except for when I wore weaves and hid my hair. Then quarterly checks yielded more fruitful results.

When I first discovered this board, I was checking every few days lol. Now, I check every couple months. I know I grow about .5 inches a month, so I stopped obsessing and I just check when I think I should see at least an inch. Also, my hair is at a length that I consider long, so that's another reason I've backed off, I'm just enjoying it.

Every time I wash my hair I'm stretching it to see :look: but officially after every touch up or if I'm deep in a stretch I will flat iron my hair.

I usually do a pull test quarterly to keep up with challenges but I don't think pull tests are that accurate. Going forward, I'll only be doing them annually....every November when I know I'm going to start with straight hair season.

I've never really been preoccupied with length, rather the health of my hair. When I started seeing various pics of people pulling their hair in all kinds of ways on Insta, it kind of put me off the whole length check thing. I'm of the thought that when it grows it grows innit? lol but I understand why some do it especially if they're not stretching their hair in other ways to see the true length. I can say I've done that same pull test 5 months ago (necessary for a Manetabolism comparison pic). Other than that, nuh-uh. So when I discovered the other week that I could get my hair into a ponytail, it was a pleasant surprise.

I've yet to measure it with tapemeasure, but I pull it here and there whenever I feel like it, normally after washing it. I don't have an actual timeframe. When I was transitioning I would photograph my NG ever 2 months though.

After reading some of these answers I don't feel too bad now.
I try to limit to once a month. But if I actually NOTICE the length, I will length check over and over to assure myself of the length.
Then.after a week my hair will seemingly get shorter in my eyes, mini hair depression sets in, and I vow not to check for X amount of time.
I listen to myself half of the time.
I wonder if the "intensity" of hair-anorexia determines the amount of times you length check.

I wear my hair up 95% of the time so I usually do random pull tests like once or twice a month. I suffer from sever hairanorexia so the length surprises me each time.

Also I'm usually doing pull tests only to check out my shrinkage and see how much new growth I have gotten so far during this transition. Shrinkage also keeps me surprised by my length.
