How much would you spend on weave hair?

I am getting another sew-in put in (I loved the first one! :D) and decided to go buy my own hair instead of using the hair from my stylist.

Holy cow, the prices were out of this world!
The kind reccomended by my stylist was 160 dollars for one pack!
The woman behind the counter said it was one of the best on the market, but dang, that's crazy expensive.

Didn't get it, by the way!

Am I missing something, is this how expensive it's always been?

What is quality worth to you? How much would you pay for weave hair that looks good and natural on your head?

The most I've paid was about $300. $30 an ounce several years ago. It was worth every penny and I still have it. Would I do it again now? Nah.

I think this is one area where you shouldn't skimp. I would get it from the stylist though as the BSS's probably have crazy markup and your stylist could get it at a better price. IMO.

when I was wearing weave in my weave days...the highest I paid was about $200.00 for a sew-in that was the price to get it done.. I bought the hair and I honestly can't remember how much that was!:look:

Not much at all. I have never spent more than $20 when I used to wear them (gasp) bonded-in.

*insert glass-shattering shriek here*

But the hair I got the most versatility out of was $5.99 for 10'' and $9.99 for 12''. I was called Say-Mee...I think it was yaki-perm, not sure though. Didn't shed much...but in the same breath, I only kept it in for two weeks at a time. HTH.

I didn't even see anything in the store for 20 bucks...maybe I'm just cheap. But I'm gonna go back and get the expensive hair.

*sigh*
There goes my party money for the weekend! :lachen:

Generally I won't spend over $25 a pack for weaving hair.
No more than $35-40 on a fall
And no more than $60 for a wig (unless it is some out-of-this-world human hair, beautiful versatile style)

I spend between 50-60 for a pack of hair. I buy in bulk from indianhairs.com. I like it. I've used the same hair for at least a year. Just purchased some more last month

The most I've paid is about $200. And it was pretty good quality hair. Not the best but pretty good. If you want good quality hair, it should cost you at least a few hundred dollars. But you can reuse it so it's worth the money instead of buying 2 packs for each weave and throwing it out afterwards.

One time I spent 120 dollars on a bag of weave. It was well worth it, it was beautiful and lasted FOREVER. It blew all those cheap 20 dollar weaves out of the water. There's just no comparison.

i just ordered hair from Extentions-Plus and the hair was 119 for 2 oz. (14 inch) I needed 6 oz for a natural looking sewin--i hate 'huge bulky' weaves.
That is the most i will pay.

I would pay up to $500 only if it meant that I would only have to purchase it once. Once I get my house in order I plan to make a once yearly purchase from a high-quality vendor like Naturegirl. You get what you pay for!

I can't stand the thought of spending more than 50 bucks on a pack. I like the look of a nice weave but it's not a priority for me to bankrupt myself for a hairdo.

I paid $200 for 8oz of virgin indian hair and I loved the hair. If its a good hair that will last long, blends well with my hair and looks natural (like EP relaxed texture) I could pay up to $400.

I don't wear weave but i advise you to do a search on BHM, I wouldn't buy it from the BSS or the stylist i'd buy it direct from the company if i did wear weaves.

the lady that has done my weave on several occassions cost $100 to sew it in and she is wonderful!! The hair I usually get is about $50 a pack. For me I get the wet and wavy hair because some is out in the front and found that it was knotting....so if I had the money, probably would have to start saving and found good hair for a few hundred dollars, usually only need about 2 packs and a few hundred meaning for the total purchase, I would probably get it. I can't see myself spending more than $250 on hair though. And since I love length..I spend extra there.
