Do you experience mild breakage? How much breakage you do experience, say, on a daily basis. Or on wash day?

Not much, its down to almost nothing since I got a hair cut last month. I seem to mostly have just normal shedding.

I lost about 10-15 hairs a day by shedding. It would probably be more if I cmbed my hair more often.I get minimal breakage.

I have only normal shedding - no breakage at any time (unless I wait too many weeks before relaxing). I feel this is because I'm not manipulating my hair much, just on wash day.

For the last 3 weeks on average 5-10 hairs per day. All long, I've been counting every one and no short ones in the sink.

I only experience normal shedding. It only gets excessive if I dont moisturize and my hair gets dry or if I wait too long to wash my hair.

i dont get much breakage, thank god. 10-15 a day. and on wash days it's pretty much the same, but i have a tendency to keep combing through my wet hair when i dont need to.

I have very mild breakage, and thats only if I comb my hair.
I dont comb my hair that much(once a month), so when I do I get about 5-15 hairs..

My hair is really fine 4a. The hairball after I wash every 1-2 weeks grows from mild 1-4 weeks post touchup (less than 20 hairs) to terrifying 6-10 weeks post touchup (100-400 hairs) as my new growth comes in.

I combat it by washing and conditioning my hair in 4 braided sections and not combing it until it's just damp or ~60% dry. Conditioning with AO GPB adds strength. Elucence MB rinses cleanly such that the new growth isn't all gummed together. I'm focusing on product build up this go round. (No more sticky Sta-Sof-Fro...)

A few hairs everyday should b normal. As long as you don't find hair on the sink, the floor, the toilet lid, the kitchen counters, the bed, the rugs, the dog...

I read that very mild breakage is inevitable

It is normal to see a few short strands here and there

I am trying to figure out whats normal though...

Last year, this stylist ran her fingers through my hair and showed me at least 10 broken pieces of hair (trying to convience me to pay $20 for a deep conditioning).. No more

I recently saw this blonde-haired cashier at Hechts with at least 20 short broken-off pieces of hair on her shirt

I was seeing as many as 5-8 per day but I figured out it was the danggit refined coconut oil, b/c they felt dry. I read in an old thread that one of the members put conditioner on her ends and I haven't seen more than 2-3 and those where when I first implemented the new plan.

Since then I check my palms and haven't seen any. FYI: I only comb my hair on wash days.

Yeah I get breakage. A few strands on my sink in the AM.

I think a little breakage per day is normal.

Maybe 1-2 pieces a day, but normally no breakage. I may only shed about 15 hair a day. Thank goodness!

the only time i shed is when its time for a touch up (about 8 or 9 weeks post) i just ran my fingers through my hair and only ONE strand was found! i owe that in part to you ladies who've been helping me here at the LHCF because i'm taking better care of my hair.

None at all

But I've never had much breakage to begin with...

only when I had wore braids with my real hair and after taking them out

I get visible breakage during wash days (like 5-10 short strands at most). I hardly comb my hair straight through since I airdry so I get no visible breakage (and i wear protective styles).

It is the non visible breakage you should worry about-the stuff we wash down the tub or that blows in the wind.

I think a little is acceptable for relaxed heads-a little more if you are colour treated and approaching touch up time.

I get a some strands on a day to day basis when I redo my braidut (maybe 10). On wash days (twice a week), between what goes down the drain and after I detangle, probably 30-40...but that also includes shedding. I'm transitioning so I think this is not so bad. Was much worse when I was fully relaxed.

i dont notice any shortened strands laying around...so i'd say very minimal amount of breakage and not a lot of shedding either!

Ok maybe it is me but my hair sheds a lot more than any of you. Daily I get about 10-15 (I comb using my big tooth comb since my hair was too tangled with the finger combing). On wash days it is a lot more. My hair is pretty healthy and according to my mom it shed the same pre-relaxer. I think it depends on your hair. My mom laughed at me when I told her my hair did not shed and she said that is because I was not combing it to remove the dead hair....I side with her on that since she took care of my hair most of my life. SO when I do comb I get a lot more (i.e. the hairs that normally come out if you comb on the daily)
