I don't even use shower caps. I just put the conditioner and hot oil on my hair and wrap saran wrap around my head and dc it that way. This is much cheaper than the disposable shower caps, and it holds the heat in better.

I use them until they are un-usable. If they get gunky I just wash em' out. Why throw away after one use?

I've just never been one to throw something perfectly good away.

Girl I use plastic caps until they are stretced out and even then I put a ruffle to hold the bottom together. I just wash them after each use. When I don't have any I use a plastic shopping bags.

It depends on how many I have at the time. I buy them in packs of 30. If it's a new pack, I use the caps once, twice max. If I'm coming down to the last few in the bag, best believe those things are going to get used repeatedly!

I get the big bag of 50, I think it is, from Sally's for like $3 and I'll reuse one until it practically falls apart. I use the plastic cap with every conditioner...even conditioner washes.I've been working on my current bag for at least six months and there's not even half a bag gone, I don't think.

ITA!! I get the big bag of caps at Sally's too. I've been depleting the same stash since spring 07. I'll reuse a cap until the elastic snaps on it...or if it's just plain gooky inside I'll toss it . But, its just conditioner in there, so its not harmful.

I've used plastic caps for DC for years. I formerly would use it on one side, rinse it out and let it air dry. But since I joined the boards, I've found I'm doing DC more often now, and so I would use one cap on both sides before tossing it. I also use caps for when I do a whole head baggy as well. I get my caps from Sam's club of 250 for about $5. I buy in bulk due to my having to do DC on other people's hair when I do their hair services.

I feel you on this one. I rinse those bad boys out and let them dry and reuse until I can't no more. I just got 2 30-packs from Sally's for $4 and I will still reuse!!

I've got two plastic caps that I know I've had for at least a year. I guess the reason I've had them so long is because I use saran wrap first, then plastic cap, then the pink cap that comes with the heat cap. I do this because the oil poos, conditioner mixed with honey poos and everything else just creates to much of a mess to salvage .

I buy the cheapie-cheap-cheap plastic wrap and that still last a long long time.

I just use this method only in the interest of time and yup, I throw the saran wrap away

The times that I rinsed the bag out, I could still see residue which gave me the creeps...so I ended up throwing them out. I need to get to Sally's for the econo size!

I must be extremely ghetto 'cause I flip these suckers inside out just like I do with Swiffers. I even use the harder plastic "cap" that came with my heating cap as a stand-by if I ran out The only thing I do not recycle by flipping inside out are my undies...that's just wrong

I recycle almost everything else I can in my house, but those plastic cap get tossed after one use.

Sometimes I will do a prepoo treatment with one and if I plan on doing any kind of conditioning after I shampoo, I would use the same one but that is the most I would ever use a cap.

Iet the durable kind from Walmart (they come in pretty colors) and I use them for my cowashes. They last a loooong time! I've been using the same one for about 2 or 3 months. For something messy like rinses or henna I would just use one fo the chepa ones and toss it afterwards

for the most part i use the shop rite storage bags(come in boxes of 50 or 100) and they work just as well... and i use them until they have holes in them...sometimes if i've done a protein treatment, i'll ball it up and keep it on top the treatment jar, or hang it off the bottle

Me too. I had one I had been using for a while and went to stretch it out and it rubber snapped. I got a big bag from Walmart.
